Hi- New to the site and was wondering if someone could help me out-
I dont have a marauder, but im a diehard ford guy.

I have a 98 Lincoln mark VIII that im in the middle of doing the Jmod to.
I have read of jerry's article, and the Tccoa articles, and the crownvic and marauder articles, and still slightly confused on my 98 since 98 was the year of many upgrades.

According to the crownvic/marauder jmod instructions, it says to just drill out

Holes #2, #4, #5, #9, #11 – 7/64 drill bit
Hole #10 – 3/32 drill bit <---

according to the Tccoa articles it says to drill #1, #3, #6, and #7
And for 98 is says to make #6 hole a SLOT to match the gasket since it was upgraded to a mechanical diode.
The Tccoa also says to drill #1 to 0.160" on ALL APPLICATIONS, but then further on says NO CHANGE for a 1997.... my 1998 #1 hole size is 0.099"... so im confused if i leave this at 0.099 or drill to 0.160.... Since the marauder article says nothing about drilling #1, i was wondering what the stock hole size of #1 is on your cars.

I was just wondering if someone who has their marauder apart, could you let me know what the STOCK hole sizes are for #1, #3, #6, and #7....

I wanted to verify if the marauder directions only call out some of the holes because many of the factory holes are already enlarged.

thanks for any and all help anyone can provide.

I'd have to dig out my OEM plate to measure but I can tell you from the research I did it looks like the 1998 vs. 2003 OEM plates are significantly different. This is why Jerry's instructions for the 2003 are much more abbreviated than the original ones.

thats what i was guessing that the newer plates have larger holes, ive been asking over and over on the lincoln boards and basically they are telling me to stop asking questions, lol.

It just seems to me that the 98 is somewhat of a grey area since they did alot of updates to the 4r70w for that year.

For #1 for 95 and prior that is had 2 tiny holes and you are supposed to make these 2 tiny holes one large 0.160 hole... but then for 97 (which is a 0.099") hole...not to change it.... but then i read that the #1 should be 0.160" for all applications.

After reading the marauder instructions, it got me thinking, how different are the hole sizes on the newer 4r70w's.....

If you do have a OEM plate and had some time to measure and post the hole sizes for all 11 holes, that would be great... Im just really curious!

thanks

Did you consider getting the HP aftermarket sep plate and then opening the 5 remaining holes to complete the jmod? This plate is thicker to prevent the cracking issue with OEM:
