I have my old Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) module from my wrecked Marauder. I was thinking about installing it on my new ride. After 6 years of using the same door-code, I thought it might be easier to just install the old RKE so i can continue using the same 5 digit code I am used to.

Before I undertake this initiative, what are some things i need to take in consideration. Will I lose any other function? Will my RKE fobs still work?

can't you just recode the new one to use the code you used to use.

If you know the factory code for the new one then you can just add the old code. The system allows up to 3-5 custom codes to be added I believe. I added my own code for my Taurus and MM.

Yes I have code from both cars. I know there is instructions on how do add additional codes. I will do some research on the forums.

This is probably an easier route.

Thanks for the replies!
