This afternoon, went out to run a few errands. Nice, sunny day, feelin' good and whatnot. Was at a stoplight, not many cars around so decided to take the opportunity to go WOT on green. I did, and on the shift from 1st to 2nd, I hear a loud squeak from under the hood...sounded very similar to a belt slipping. Met some friends for dinner and on the way home had another chance for WOT on green and had the same sound happen again. This has not happened before.
Thoughts?
Edit: The 'squeak' only lasted for a second. I had a new serpentine belt installed shortly after I bought the car...approx 60k on the clock.

Mine does the same, have replaced the tensioner and belt with a gatorback. Both with no change

Make sure your alternator pulley clutch isn't locked up

Sounds like belt chirp to me. Happened on every J-modded or tuned Panther I've owned until I put a Gatorback belt on...

Mine currently has 100k but has done it since 62k
I do have a z tune, and the belt is a couple of years old. Tensioner is new. Gonna track down another belt

Best way to fix a squeak is put some oil on it. Squeaky wheel, er belt gets the greese and all that good stuff.

My buddy works for a Lincoln dealer and he says that all of the Panthers do it. They usually replace the belt and tensioner to get rid of it.
Neither of my Grand Marquis have ever chirped the belt at WOT shift, if the MM does I can't hear it for the SC whine...

My MM squeeks the tires on 1-2 shift and 2-3 shift at WOT--been doing it ever since I got a tune:D Have your windows open---you might be surprised. Maury
