I need to insure my MM, my '69 Barracuda (appraised at $ 35,000) and a '66 Dodge Charger 383 Special under restoration. Who do you folks have your cars insured with and do you recommend them ? My State Farm agent can't seem to come up with a true "declared value" for all these cars and the restorer requires coverage on the Charger immediately. If you can help, I would really appreciate it. Thanks, Maury :help::help:

If your restorer requires coverage I would get another restorer, something stinks!

I bought my insurance from here.

A small subdivision of Metlife.
My insurance costs went up ~$300 on the MM and deductible is now 0.
45K agreed value, 6K miles a year max. Racing is not covered...

State Farm is who I'm with as well. They are slightly frustrating to deal with involving specialty cars. I talked to them as well about paying extra for a declared value and was told they don't do it.

My fox is a big issue. I'll be searching for more fitting insurance this winter. I have 45k into the car and I'll be having it appraised this winter. The guy I spoke with about the appraisal told me with the list and info I faxed him its likely I'll be in the 30-35k range. When I talked to state farm my agent said I'd get about 5k max even with receipts. F' THAT!

I went with Haggery up here (the Canadian Offices); as they were they only ones to allow the agreed value on this car.
They are AMAZING to deal with! They really take the time to discuss things with you. Very happy with them.
