You'll have to talk to him about that; I won't divulge what I paid for mine. Alternately, www.musclemerc.com has them for around $100.
Or check with the vendors here.

FYI those pictures show a completely different cooling mod that is much more labor-intensive to get to. The Zack and Travis mods require little more than removal of the intake and plenum.

Unless you plan on REALLY REALLY railing on the car its not needed.

98k here. Been autox'd, open tracked, and dragged. Unless your running boost or a lot of NA power. It's not needed

Sorry, we're going to have to agree to disagree on it.
There are several of N/A Marauders that have failed valve seats as a result of overcooked cylinder heads (which is what a cooling mod is supposed to help prevent in the first place, no?).
Obviously I wish you the best with yours, but having just spent $600 on parts to fix mine (http://mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=82117) (link), I'm a believer in it...

The valve seats/seals in these DOHC motors are hit and miss. I had to do a full set of seals on a friend's 01' Cobra with only 30k on it. (that was a beotch with the motor in car)
I know on boosted cars its pretty much mandatory. I run one on my 03' Cobra and had one in my 01' Cobra (03' swap in it). Simply because boost creates and insane amount of heat and anything you do can do to assist its removal the better. But I haven't seen enough SOLID indisputable evidence that says its needed with mostly stock N/A applications unless its a car that is beat on a lot under high load with a leaner aftermarket tune. Such as top end runs, road racing, ect. I never put one on our 01' Cobra N/A motor either, it had 114k when I removed it and I was far from gentle on that car. I mean, if it were like the V8 SHO Cam's failing (80% failure rate) then yea, I can seem it mandatory to do so with a stock engine.
Its one of those "sleep at night" things for stock cars. If it makes you feel cozy and you have a stock engine, by all means do it. It sure as hell won't hurt anything.

My first motor got bitten from the dreaded hot #8 valve issue. If I had a cooling mod done earlier in it's life it would still be here today running strong. My :twocents: Well worth the investment.

^^^ +10 ^^^.......243,xxx total miles and 160,xxx Supercharged and I ain't got no stinkin' "Coolin' Mod"!!!!:shake::eek:
BTW.......there are thousands of Marauders.....Aviators and I think some Mustangs using our motors runnin' around out thar without "Cooling Mods" and they seem to be OK??:beer:
I have a feeling that most of the failures we have seen are a result of other "Mods" failing........poor tuning......timing.....lean condition, etc!!??:rolleyes:

I really like the one that MMR sells.Polished aluminum I think,.looks like....But,always a but,won't work on MM's.Clearance issue..Barring that one the set up on Chicago garage is very innovative.I think a couple of members here are running them...
