So a guy by the name of James Hell came up with a kit to mount the m122 off of a GT500 onto a terminator lower manifold. The m122 is a better designed and slightly larger blower compared to the m112, and also has the advantage of a drivers side intake (as does the trilogy kit).

I've seen a few threads that discussed it on here including:

People have brought up the issue of both hood and wiper cowl clearance, saying it won't work.

As I'd previously found ( http://www.svtperformance.com/forums/engine-tuning-214/840274-m122-blower-terminator-can-done-3.html ) The guy who came up with the kit mentions that it sits slightly lower than the stock eaton. Assuming this to be true, that leaves a potential wiper cowl issue.

My question is this: Has anyone actually tried doing it or even measured it out for clearance or is all of this talk of clearance issues simply heresay?

There's been a lot of similar talk on CVN (especially if you look back a few years) where otherwise technically competent members were saying that the brake booster and wiper cowl would interfere with putting a 4v into a 98-02, although a number of people have done it without modifying either, etc.

Is it called the "Hell, Riser, Mod"?

There is about a 0.2" interference measuring off from the cam cover to the back of the supercharger on a GT500 and from that same point to the wiper cowl on my car. I think with some creative tig welding you could modify the elbow enough to clear.

Thanks for the measurement! I'll have to do some comparisons against my mom's '04, but from what I can tell the 03+ wiper housing/cowl is much smaller/shorter. Might have to look into retrofitting it.

Edit: For any future searchers looking into this: Some quick digging on CVN shows that you can use the 02- wiper setup with the 03+ housing. No need to rewire, extra clearance.

No point in doing this unless you have a built bottom end first.

If the boost is limited what difference should it make which FI someone uses pertaining to longevity of the engine? Will a low boost pulley be too large for hood clearance? The advantage I could see with this swap would be cost and the ability to upgrade after the engine internals upgrade - keeping the battery in its stock location and takeoff GT500 superchargers/intake tubes are selling at fair prices.

The M122 is STILL a heat generating, power robbing roots blower. Twin screw, especially the TVS, is the way to go if you're going to go through all the work anyway. Moving the battery, lengthening cables, etc. is easy.

I've pretty much got a complete top end less a set of CoPs, which I'd just planned to order new when I do the build. I'm planning on building up a teksid block sometime in the next year or two, fully forged internals, etc. I'm currently working over the heads. The internals aren't going to be a limiting factor.

I'm aware a twin screw or a TVS (still a roots type, but much more efficient) is the better route to take. It's probably what I'll do in the long run. As far as intake temps, my current thought was to run a water/meth setup directly into the lower intake (post-intercooler, won't be going through the blower).

Too bad you don't live closer. I'd give you a heck of a deal on a Teksid block I don't need. I'll be putting up my Accel COPs fs cheap shortly (less than 500 miles) since I got an awesome deal on some WeaponX's.

It's probably a good thing, would like to get my other car paid off and whatnot before I go nuts on an engine build. Also have a ton of supporting mods/preventative maintenance that needs to be done first. Head porting should also be an interesting experience.

Besides, I'd (almost) feel bad ripping out the stock 2v with only 160k on it :P
