'04 Stereo Options

The previous owner of my '04 DTR ripped all the factory stereo crap out and put in some cheesy aftermarket no name brand touch screen unit (Fahrenheit I think it's called) and amp/12" sub set-up. I don't like it one bit and would like to go back to what my car had in it from the factory (I'd prefer the new Sony Mirrorlink but dang it's pricey). So what are my options here? Obviously the factory head unit is gone. The factory trunk shelf sub is gone as well. The CD changer is still there however. Any idea where to source these besides the dealer? I'd like my steering wheel controls back as well...

i have both the factory headunit and the factory subwoofer encloser w/woofer in it and everythign thats included

A few members may have used subwoofers around as I have seen a few listed for sale over the last year, so hopefully one who has one will reply. If you can find one, i would recommend the Audiophile radio from like 2006 Ford Escape or Mercury Mariner..They are a 6 disc player "in dash" and the steering wheel controls do work..the trunk mounted cd will NOT, but it has 6 discs in the unit itself. it is plug and play with factory connections if they are still there behind the dash and the aftermarket unit that is in there now. Try a search thru the forums for "audiophile" and many posts will come up with info about them, the part number etc..they can be found on ebay, your local salvage yards etc..for around $150 or so. Ther are a few more other years available for the same radio.

Most likely the stock wiring is still there and they used an adapter. So find a stock deck and its likely to go right in.
