Are you looking at OEM manifolds or shorty headers?
If OEM manifolds, what ^^^^^^ he said, and for the very minimal performance gain, not worth it. PM rayjay if you need confirmation, he's got them on his car.

My goal is to have less restriction in my exhaust system without removing cats or increasing piping. I believe the 99 cobra oem manifold is slightly larger than the MM oem. A couple buddy's of mines notice low end torque after increasing piping or removing cats. I intent on polishing the cobra manifold then ceramic coating to increase exhaust scavenging.

Like I said, PM rayjay, he's got Cobra manifolds on his car, and from what he'd told me a while back, virtually no difference in performance.
Your buddies are prolly correct, maybe a couple HP more by deleting the rear cats, FWIW, that'll prolly get you more than swapping from one type of OEM manifold to another, and I'd venture it'd be easier to do as well.
BTW, are you still running the OEM tune, or have you upgraded to a Mo's or Lidio aftermarket performance tune?

Thanks for the reply ill pm rayjay. I bought my MM about a month ago and it's bone stock. But if the cobra manifolds are a hassle then ill pass. Love the acceleration this car has n don't want to loose much on low end. I own a 2003 silver birch MM 300B

The two best mods you can do to a stock MM are 4.10 gears and a performance tune. Hands down, those mods will give you the biggest bang for the buck.
Minimal impact on fuel mileage (most guys see 1/2 to maybe 2 mpg difference), but a WHOLE lot of upside, the gears and tune will really wake up the car, especially on the low end.

Ok... Thank you those will be my first 2 mods.

The Cobra exhaust will not bolt up without many mods to the pipes.

Ok thanks. I really don't the hassle of trying to make it work just sounded like a good idea before.

You can always do exhaust mods down the road, but IMO, you're going to want to go with either Kooks or Stainless Works Long Tubes and custom pipes from those on back; plan on $1,500+ for this mod.

I believe you need 03/04 Cobra manifolds because the 99/01 Cobra ports are different. I could be wrong?

The increase in performance will hardly be noticeable with just switching the stock for stock exhaust manifolds so for what it would cost it's not worth it. Better off upgrading the piping first. You would either need to real shorty headers, mid-length KOOKS or LT SW headers to see a real difference.

Or go much bigger bang for more buck and start saving for an Eaton swap!

Big +1 to that!
