I just got off the phone with Ford Racing about the blue color name on my Marauder Certificate of Authenticity, they are going to update their website to the correct color name and send me a new certificate!!!!!!!

It's a great feeling to know I could possibly make a difference in the lives of 328 owners or less:D

You should have asked them why there are 328 Blues listed; but only a total of 327 radios. Who got the radio delete option?

It's your turn  ask when you call for your new certificate.

Dark Blue Pearl. In Derek's case he is covered either way because he had the forethought to order his steering wheel badge both ways. ;)

Yes, DARK BLUE PEARL. Check my signature \/\/\/\/\/\/ since 2004. I thought that this was settled 7 months ago based on the MSRP Window Sticker >>>>> http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=77848

And that's a Good Thing  ..... But TNWSS !!

I think that's the way mine reads, but now you've got me wondering; better check when I get home.

The correct color name is Dark Blue Pearl. I feel as if I started this argument as Charlie pointed out my thread earlier this year and I had to fix it.

I actually have three, one says dark pearl blue on top, another says dark blue pearl on top, and I forget what the other one says on top..... And the bottom of all three say 153 of 328.... So they are completely useless to everyone else.:alone:

And there were actually only 327 blues made. Years ago (search, it's on here somewhere) it was found out that a DBP was scheduled for build with a VIN number issued but never made it out of the factory (it may never have even been started). This was confirmed by a factory employee. No reason was ever given. A lot of speculation is it was for paint issues (LOL), since the paint shop would paint extra bodies in case a issue came up on the line in quality control and they would substitute the replacement same color painted body. Since DBP was a special run, the paint shop may not have painted a "spare" (or they did, but it wasn't used). To the best of my knowledge no one ever figured out which VIN number it was or why.

I guess it just makes the blues even more legendary.... So rare one of them never really existed

Let's not open this can of worms again. The "official" number from Ford Performance Group (FPG) is 328 Dark Blue Pearl (DX) MMs. 113 with Dark Charcoal interior and 215 with Light Flint interior. 217 with Heated seats and 111 with Non-Heated seats.

STAPrap was our factory employee member at the time. I did the search and can't find any reference to what you are talking about ^^^^ above from STAPrap or anyone else. Don't recall any other factory rep making that comment. There was some speculation back in about 2004 or 2005 that one Blue may have been painted as a Silver Birch. This was never confirmed beyond the state of shithouse rumor. Speculation ain't fact.

I prefer to use the number published by FPG.

I'm inclined to agree.

If FPG sez the number is 328, then 328 it is...

Yep, That's the problem with being on here so long. I can forget what was fact and what was speculation. I usually try to source any info I give. Apologies if any confusion created.
