How would I go about lenthening the POS Red cable from power distribution block to battery.???It seems to be attached to a black rubber line that comes out the bottom directly into the red pos cable...any connectors available or do all the cables need to be replaced,Which is fine but the one coming from the under hood fuse box does seem to have a replceable end...

^^^ if you carefully pry up on the side tabs of that cover (clear in second pic); under that you will find that it's just a ring connector with a nut holding it on.

Use a hook tool to relrase the clips, and a 10mm socket or wrench for the nut.

Now I have a big problem.I removed the cable exactly like Rocketman and Spectragod said.Easy peasy. I tried putting the new cable on but,the original had a 90 degree terminal end.I used a ring terminal. The plastic cover wouldn't go back on.I got out my trusty dremel and ground out the plastic to make it fit..So far so good. When I put the cover back on it was too tght and when I squeezed it closed one of the metal terminals coming from the fuse box broke..There are 2.one on top of the other.the top piece broke.I have no idea how to get to that terminal. Can someone please help me out...Here's a picture of what I'm talking about..Those are both, one on top of the other, that's how they were originaly..I'm trying some liquid "solder",thats on it now.takes 24 hours to dry..Tried soldering it together,N.G...I don't have a welding machine...How do you get that box out and replace the bad terminal????

FBM,I'm glad you're around.Get specificic, like you're talking to your kid. How would I bolt them together. The hole is where the bolt for the cable goes.So we we can't use that one..The piece that's broken is the top piece and if just bolted to bottom piece, there is no contact between the 2 broken ends..

How hard did you push on the cover?
You broke the post that the cables connect to, correct?
I would get a bolt & nyloc nut. Bolt all the cables together. You will have to make sure that it's well insulated since that connection will have power all the time.

I'm not following you..I need some way to connect the top piece of the terminal..the 2 terminals (top and bottom)are connected to each other when the bolt holding the cable is tightened..If I connect anything to just the bottom part (the one that's not broken)there will be no connection to the upper piece..How can I take the whole box out or loose enough to get under it,so I can replace that piece????

You put a bolt through all 3 connections.... no?
Your probably not going to be able to replace that piece without getting a new or used fuse box and splicing all the connections.

There is only one wire from that box. There were two tongues with a hole in both, maybe a 1/8 inch in between..I would think when bolted together,as they were to begin with the two touch. There is a small piece of the top piece left.the bottom one is intact...This happened because I tried to use the wrong terminal.A ring and the round part of it was too big..I took apart the original terminal which covers the small piece thats left and when bolted together,I have all my electric equipment working.interior, head and tail lights horn etc...But the car won't start..It makes that sound errrr but wont turn over...Battery is fully charged.I have had the same problem with a loose battery connection but, these are tight. It's dark now so I'll start in the morning...I just hope I didn't mess up something inside the box when I was trying to solder that piece on...Exactly which wire goes to the starter??..I dont have the 3 positives together.1 goes from fuse box directly to battery. The other 2 go into a brand new 2 in 1 out distribution block to the battery...I just put that in and this happened while I was rearranging the wires...I'll take pictures tomorrow.Once again thanks for your help...By the way the wire end that I'm using covers the little broken piece and the complete bottom piece coming out of fuse box..Got me stumpt...

There are two tongues, one on top of the other.the top one broke close to the fuse box...What's the best way to solder them back together..Which type of solder for copper to copper???Or does it have to be brazed??I'm afraid of putting to much heat in that area...

Those are the tongues (my word)clipped together.Look carefully near the black fuse box and you'll see the break

You can see the break very well in both pics..The 2 pieces are clipped together.

Try this:
Get a washer, maybe a fender washer, it's a larger diameter washer with a small diameter hole. Grind down the sides of the washer so it fits over the top of the piece that is still attached. The washer should look like a key. Keep the hole in the washer intact. Put a bolt through the cable, the washer, then through the remaining connector. Tightening the nut and bolt should clamp everything together. Use a nyloc nut and Lock Tite.
I'll try it this weekend.

Do you mean the actual cable itself or the terminal on the end???I have the original terminal end (took the old wire out and put a new wire in) I also have a thick copper lug type terminal...Draw me a picture if you can...Also shouldn't the cable be in the middle?Washer, covering broken piece, cable terminal, bottom terminal which is still good ???

No, you want the washer on top of the broken piece so when you tighten the bolt it compresses the washer to the broken piece in the fuse box, making good contact.
