View Full Version : Wiper blades
Digging though some old papers today and found this. Anybody seen it before? I was trying to buy new ones when the car was only a year or so old. The parts guy printed it out for me. Said he'd never seen a note like it before.

I've heard of the special wipers but never seen 'em in person (only pictures) and have never seen dealer documentation of 'em.

I wonder if mine are OEM. I can't remember if I replaced mine when I bought the car, I look tomorrow and see.

I had these new on my car from the dealer. I also have a set of Ford OEM's on the shelf. Didn't realize they were that unusual at this point. And yes, they didn't work real well.
Based on my level of mods, it is highly unlikely that I will use these on an original restoration.

The Blackbird came with those wipers. They sucked. Bought the car new in September and changed the blades in October. Now I use the $9 Michelin blades from Wally's and they work as well as everything else I tried for more money.

I think those flat blades came mostly on alot of the 300As and not so much on the 300Bs during the 2003 model year. Might have been another change in the switch over between 300A and 300B. Early on I remember seeing them alot. My '03 300B came with the standard type wiper blade.

My 08 Mustang has flat blades from the factory on it. I like them.

I'll buy them if you're in the market to unload.

My 300A, June 11, 2002 build, has the flat blade wipers. My 300B, Dec 2, 2002 build, did not have the flat wipers.
The flat wiper blades would have less wind drag.

+1 on using these in place of what Ford does not offer anymore. BTW, I have run many an OASIS report and wiper blade claims were frequent.

The 2003 Ford Crown Victoria and Mercury Grand Marquis also came with those windshield wiper blades ( 3W7Z-17528-BA ).

As a few have noted, I liked 'em and never had an issue with them.
After finding-out that they were being discontinued, took them off, stored them, and went with BOSCH ...

Actually, That part number is still available. My former workplace has a pair. The bad news is, it is not that style of blade.

T'is true. When the flat blades were discontinued the part # was continued and referred to the revised / non-flat blades.

I've been using the "beam" blade wiper for almost 7 years now. Normally use the RainX ones but this last time I picked up a set of Bosch marathon beam blades and they have been good for the past month. Just put some RainX latitudes on my Taurus today.
