trans and tach

i have an 03 marauder. It pings when not down shifting unless i hit the gas. the tach reads at zero unless i hit the gas. I put the right fuel in it. I hope it simple. to fix. can the trans be affect with tach thank you

The tach problem has no fix, as of yet...my car.and a few others have the same issue...many have taken the dash apart and nothing is noticibly wrong, dont waste your time. As for the pinging, make sure youre running atleast 91, or even better 93 octane. Try lucas injector cleaner fuel additive, buy the big bottle for around $10, and run a few tanks of gas with it.

Trans & tach have nothing in common.

"It pings when not down shifting unless i hit the gas." That doesn't make sense.
It should ping when you hit the gas.

Should be running at minimum 91 octane, preferably 93 octane.

My tach has started to twitch a tiny bit in the 1500 rpm range. Hopefully it isn't a sign of it taking a dive
