I just got back from signing the final paperwork for my MM,pick it up tomorrow! Dealer wants $2230 for a 6yr 100k warranty w/$100 deduct.! Has anyone purchased and used an aftermarket warranty company? I think their priced in the $1400 range if I'm not mistaken, just don't know how good they are, any input is appreciated.Dealer was also trying to sell a paint treatment from simonize, a teflon coating guaranteed for 5 years against tree sap, salt, acid rain, bird droppings etc... $495.00 didn't sound too bad after hearing some of the paint woes from some other members-has anyone bought into this 'deal' yet, would like to know if anyone has collected on that warrantee.

WOOHOO!!

Ripoff...

Bigger ripoff...most members paint probs were not caused by tree sap or bird droppings, but by faulty prep and/or application...a Teflon coating won't fix that...you'd be better off telling the dealer NOT to let his yard monkey even wash the car, much less polish it or put some $500 miracle glop on it, then wash it yourself and go the Zaino route...you'll be much happier with the results...

If you are an "A" plan buyer, there is an "A" plan price for extended warranty . I believe it is about 50% of the regular price.

I got a 5 year/100k extension w/ $50 ded for $1,500. Could have gotten it a bit lower I think, but instead got a guaranteed loner car when getting any service done (not a normal thing around here). I think I did OK. I skipped the undercarriage, paint and interior goo, the over priced tint, and some other junk they were pawning but I forget right now.

Teflon coatings are a scam. You are better off taking your car to a professional detailer to have a 6 month paint sealant applied or if you have the know how, do it yourself.

I got the 6 year/100K plan - $100 deductible (premium care) for less than $1K.

Shop around. Tell the dealer you have a competing price and see if he will match it.

I got mine from fordwarrantys.com

Hope this helps,

Ask for the zero deductable, my dealer threw that in to sweeten the pot. Basically, if you take the car back to the dealership you purchased it from for warranty work, you pay ZERO. It is called the disappearing deductable

I got the ESP Premium $50 deductible 72/75000 for $875. I got the price from an internet search on ESP warranties. I think the cheapest was from a Ford dealer in Iowa. My dealer matched it. I also got the teflon coating and I think it was the best investment yet. 14 months and the paint feels (and looks) like I just waxed it. I have never waxed this car.I think a lot depends on the quality of the paint to begin with and the prep before they seal it. The key is go over the car with a fine tooth comb BEFORE you sign the deal. Its a brand new car and you should get what you pay for. It will never look better than it does when you pick it up. Dont let them tell you they will buff it out or "make it right". If its not up to your standards WALK AWAY!!

I got a 7 year 75000 mile premium from the same source and I am very happy with their service. I had some conflicts with the contract from the dealer and they went the extra mile to get it straightened out. It seems you can't have a premium ESP if your car has the RentalCare. Their price for a premium was $500 under the dealer's quote for a BASIC.
