As the title says I drove her to work today and all was fine, sadly I had to leave her out in the rain, because there were no parking under the bridge at my job..
She sat out side from about 2 pm until 7 pm. I drove her to WaWa, 7/11 and back to my job no longer than twenty minutes out in the street and parked her under the bridge this time. While on the phone I notice my needle was dam near touching the H and quickly turned off the heat then turned car off. Open the anti coolent tank, as I did coolent started spilling out.
I didn't really have to time check anything as I was on my hour lunch, and had to go back in, plus the weather isn't making this it any easier. I left her off for a few mins and turned her back on, she made a loud screeching sound then went back to sound normal. The needle is a bit higher than where it normally sits which is at the twenty and seemed as if is was going higher slightly
couple things to note, I have never had an overheating issue before today, I've had the the car for what's going on a year. Honestly never had any mechanical problems at all with her, and she is also an 03 300A
Just wondering what you guys think the issue could be at this moment, I'm gonna have to drive her home which is an about in hour and a half and don't really want to get stuck out there with this weather.
I think Sandy's done something to her, with the rain and strong wind but would like to hear what you guys think. . Thanks in advance

Did it heat up driving or just when you were sitting. First thing to check is the fan running

Have you recently changed the coolant in the car?

Turn the car on while parked, pop hood and watch both the temp guage and the fan in back of the radiator.
The fans will come on when the a/c is on or when the car comes to operating temp.
If the fans come on and it still runs hot it could be a bad thermostat.
The temp guage moves at ~235*-240*.

Burp it first. This is the EASIEST thing to do first and at least eliminate it. I bet this is it.

Don't ever bother opening the main coolant cap. That's lower than the highest coolant points in the system.
Oh yeah, if you are low and you drive a lot, you may not have a problem until you're sitting becazuse the higher rpms move more coolant even though there's air in there.

Didn't read the comments until now, I will do what was recommend by you guys later tomorrow or most likely the day after. Got hot again while on my way home, had to shut her down in a parking lot, didn't turn the heat on this time and still did it, herd the fans go off this time when I shut her down so they were operating.
After a few minutes of sitting around I got back in and decided to turn the heat on but lower the temp and everything went back to normal tho the heat coming out the vent was hotter than the cab temp led on. Drove her for maybe another 15 minutes and got home and no temp rise, and Coolant was not change recently

You are pressing your luck driving and having it overheat. Park it on an incline and open up your cross over tube and burp your system before you do any more damage.

^^^^^^ What he said.
If the overheating comes and goes, it sounds like there may be air in the system, in which case burping will take care of that, and it is easy to do.

I don"t understand why you keep driving it and why you keep talking about the heater? Please explain.

I've always heard to turn the heater on if the car is overheating. Why is that? Or is that just an old wives tell?
Also, are you sure its the fan your hearing? And not the air ride compressor? I think he needs to visually check that the fan is turning on or else its bad.

Because it removes heat from the cooling system, a heater is just a mini radiator, when you ask for heat the fan blows ambient temperature air across it making hot air come into the vents. You are removing heat from the engine.
Heat should be set on 90, fan on high will remove the most heat possible using cabin controls, if uncomfortable put the windows down. Car might still overheat but turning the heat on MAX takes the heat out of the coolant and helps lower the temperature, if you have a situation like above.

Which is why I don't understand why blk turned the heat off

I've never herd that before, but I turned the heat off the first time thinking maybe that had something to do with it overheating because all I was doing at that moment was sitting there in P. I turned it back on when I drove it home so I had no choice but to keep driving but it's parked in my driveway until I have time to go out and burp it which most likely isn't going to be until Friday

Good Luck.

Well I started off with burping it first, it seems to have worked. Drove and left it on for about twenty minutes, needle didn't go above the twenty mph mark, that is where it normally sits. I would like to thank all who gave me some advice on the matter.
While doing all this my father notice oil dripping under the car a nice size puddle was already there. Check the oil seems like it needs about a quart of oil tried to find where the leak was coming from, I know its around the oil filter, check the filter and was dry.. So tomorrow Ill be going under to see what could be the problem

Same problem here. I had the radiator flushed by Ford service center, wouldn't they have properly burped the system?

Probably don't know the proper procedure.
