Who can tell me the best way to solder two pieces of copper together? Not wire,Two parts of a approx. 1/8 thick 2inch long 1inch wide..I've tried every kind of solder including silver.I use flux..Just can't get the solder to stick...I'm afraid to use a torch because it's too close to the fuse box, which I may have already ruined...I'm GUESSING that brazing would be the way to go but again afraid of the heat so close to fuse box.Any soldering experts out there???

The pieces have to be absolutely clean and shiny. Have to use enough heat to get the pieces hot and melt the solder.

Yep, what fast said...the problem is the copper is cooling off before you can get the solder to stick them together....

Drill it, connect with a small nut and bolt....as another option. The solder joint youre making is a cold solder, thats why its not working. Brazing would take more heat than soldering also

Unfortunately there is not enough of the piece remaining that is going into fuse box to drill a hole..

the whole "migila" yiddish for thing... "Megillah" is Hebrew. In Yiddish it would be "megile".

The two parts may have a protective coating on them. If you haven't already done try sanding the area to be soldered, then use the flux. What size iron are you using? May have to go industrial. Also, may have to use heatsinks to keep the heat from critical parts.
Is this related to this thread?

Don't if you're kidding or what. All hebrew and yiddish words are phonetically converted to English. There is no "correct" spelling because because they are either Hebrew or Yiddish which use a different alphabet...How would you spell in English,,,,gay cok off in yom???

It's all about having a hot enough iron.I was using a 25watt and you could stand there holding it all day.I bought a 60 watt and the difference is like night and day..2 seconds and your soldered...

You are correct, and I was kidding......in part.
There are generally-accepted "Americanized" spellings of Hebrew words. My father was an English teacher and linguistics has always been interesting to me.
