Out of the blue one day the car overheated. I followed the purge instructions and put close to a gallon and 1/2 of fluid in. I have no idea where it went. The car does not drip, and the dipstick does not look milky.

The car is currently running cool, but I picked up a nasty squeal. I don't kow what is making then noise, but am thinking I should change the water pump, incase it is the issue.

Anyone have any suggestions?

The belt and pulleys are probably coated with coolant. Try some brake clean on them.

If you are worried that one of your accessories is going bad, pull the belt and check each pulley for end play (in and out movement) you can also spin each pulley to see if there is any noise coming from them.

I would check these things before driving it more. Overheating it can be very expensive

Might want to also check the serp belt.

How old & how many miles, might be time to replace?
