Just got my marauder after transmission rebuild a week ago. I was on the highway and engaged cruise control, it started accelerating and wouldn't stop! I pressed the "off" button and didn't slow, I taped the brakes and it didn't slow. I had to to shift it into neutral and coast to the side of the highway as the RPMS were spinning at about 5k.
Turned the car off, and when I turned it back on, she revved to 5k immediately. I pulled cruise control fuse, still revved. I disconnected battery for 5 minutes, and started it up, and it still revved to 5k immediately.
I had to get towed to dealership. They cruise control module was keeping the throttle body open. They wanted 650 for a new cruise control module, needless to say I took the car back!

I'd say they unhooked the cable and got it messed up when reinstalling it...
Its ether that or they put a Toyota Prius trans in your car!

Something screwy with the cables or linkage!

If it happens again, you can unhook the cable for cruise control off of the throttle body.

I wouldn't be happy with the tranny place. If they did something and noticed it and didn't tell you thats not good at all of them. You could've been hurt. Maybe they'll make things right and fix it for you if it is a problem and isn't somethings just on their weird or something. But glad you and the car are ok

I don't think the transmission shop was at fault, originally i thought so but...
The cruise control module linked to the throttle bottle got stuck and kept it WOT.
The dealership disconnected the cruise control, so she is all good now, just no cruise control.
I might see what I can do and put one in a little later.
I am at 96,000 miles.
