I dropped the car off on Monday at Pauls High Performance. They are busy installing a Turbo 400 with a transbrake in her. The Gear Venders Overdrive unit should be arrivng soon. She should be up and ready to go out and play this spring. The tranny looks like it will fit with very little problems. This car has been down for 2 years now so I am getting a little trigger happy. Should be quite the beast this time. It went 10.88 @129.7 before it broke the tranny. :bigcry:http://www.mercurymarauder.net/gallery/data/500/medium/781FA888-4932-4BB1-8047-E7E5C93D0FB0_-IMG_6424.jpg

Thats with no gas Chris! The sixty foot was 1.76 so you have an idea of what was going on. It had no tire spin either. The new tranny has a brake and more converter in it so I expect things will improve. I am getting geeked up about it now!;) It also scaled at 4700 pounds!!!! she is a true heavy weight!

God man, put that thing on a diet!

Its pretty sobering when you factor the weight Chris. Pull the weight and add some gas to it and it would be right with Shermans car!;)

Good going John! What do you guys have in those cars. Mine scaled at 4390lbs with me in it and a full 10 lbs bottle of nitrous minus spare tire.

You guys need to go on a diet. The cars are not heavy, something else is adding the weight. Put nitrogen in the tires. HINT

You got that right Joe! The car has stereo, roll bar and a lot of other stuff in her. Bet she picks up a couple more pounds with the new changes. I doubt I try to put her on a diet. A lot is going on thru out the car. It had enough wire in it to start a copper mine.

Landy it has a Cobra block and air to water S/C plus a host of other things tucked away. Read the above post for more of the list.

She has the tranny and overdrive installed. They replaced the rear crossmember with a custom built one after finding out how chincy the stock one is. All the N20 lines and the solenoids are mounted. They had to modify the floor to clear the Turbo 400. It all looks good. Now to get it running right with out the stock tranny. When it comes back we need to wire the bottle stuff and install the interior. 3700 converter and a trans brake with a 2 step in her this time around. Should be very interesting while I learn how to drive this thing. :burnout: :D

John I will do that for you! With the 3200 it was 1.76 and the 3700 has not seen the track yet.. Your times appear to be very close to my car and that includes MPH. Looks like Chris is doing a good job for you! By the way I weighed in at 4700 pounds when I went 10.88 @ 129.7
and did not spray the car. It will be a month or more before I am out to play with the Grand Monkey.

I weighed in at 4410 Lbs. last weekend & my best 60' was 1.74, we are thinking of a few changes to help it launch quicker. NO spray YET till we see what we can get without it & yes Chris is real good. :)

Pops

The car is done and will be picked up soon. The interior needs to be put back in when it makes it home.

Dale the transmission cross
member from the factory had a ton of flex in it.

...Dale the transmission cross

That's strange? I understand it is a tight fit, and difficult to remove ... I wonder if it is a "press fit" to make the frame stiffer? It's large, and all boxed - was it just flexing at the trans mount area?

Please post a picture of the new one, if you get a chance. I forgot the Pre-2003 chassis has a different trans x-member.
