Looking for a rust-free Mustang II coupe. Don't want to spend more than $1000 on this so it doesn't have to be running. Just straight and rust-free. Prefer all the chrome on the outside be intact as I don't want to spend $$ replacing it.

If you find a Cobra II, I would be interested if it is white with the red stripes...

Let me know what you find in your area.

Did you actually say Mustang II and rust free in the same sentence?

My first thought also.
A 1974 Mustang II hatchback was my first new car, what a piece of crap!
TooManyFords, you are truly living up to your name!:D
Seriously, what are you going to do with it?

Did you know that the curb weight of a II was only 2700lb?

No, I didn't!
Stripping out the interior etc. would shave about 500 pounds.
I see where you're going with this!
How about this one:

I always liked the little turds in a weird way? Of course, I dig pintos, wagons, mavericks, vega's, late 70's malibu's, almost anything from that era... He'll I'd even take some early Datsun's!

Actually John...It would be much cooler to mod a Fairmont Futura!

They are even lighter....like a Coors beer can on wheels.

The IIs never get any love! I think they were great. They TRIPLED Mustang sales from 73 to 74. Remember the Arab oil embargo and gas crisis of 73? They kept the Mustang name alive when it easily could've easily died. And they were the same as the original Mustang. The original was a sportier body put on the cheapest chassis Ford had to offer. In 64 it was the Falcon, in 74 it was the Pinto.

Ya just gotta love a good 78 King Cobra.

My favorite was a nice little 78 light blue hatchback that a girl had when I was in college. She obviously appreciated her parents paying for her school. Her vanity plate?

No, I was thinking more like my spare MMR 900 on the engine stand! Tub and cage it for the street. Then put the 6-71 on it when I get the turbos installed on ProRauder.

Just saw one near me if you are still looking. It was sitting at the end of a driveway. I did not see a price, but I can keep my eye out for it (cannot remember exactly where it was).
