well i screwed up the face swap.
when i was putting it all back together I scuffed the face of the needle. :mad2:
autometer doesnt seem to sell just the needle.
any ideas short of buying a whole gauge?

Sorry to hear that Gavin, I bet Mary will hook you up.

Guage swap is next on my list. I know there are alot of threads out there outlining this project. Which one did you choose? Maybe give me a hint of where it's at....?

I've got a couple spare factory gauges too.

This is why I decided to just swap the volt gauge as well. I'm such a clutch, I just knew I'd screw the pooch if I tried to swap the faces.

Count me out, then...not a "true marauder owner"...I don't have a THING that has come off...including those STUPID initial wiper blades.

I agree with the Sarge. By retaining the parts you can always go back to stock.

OK I'll bite... In previous threads I've seen statements of replacing with "real" Auto Meter gauges. What's wrong with the stock ones?

jabird:

The stock oil pressure gauge is a fake...as long as you have at least 6 lbs of oil pressure, the gauge will always read 60...no more, no less...

The replacement (i.e. WORKING) AutoMeter gauge is P/N 4327 and is available at Summit or Jegs for about $55. The (included) sender must also be replaced...

The voltmeter is real, but some folks want both gauges to be identical, so they replace it as well...the "real" gauges have a very slightly different face, but most people wouldn't see any difference if you didn't point it out...
