I have had several MM and more CV SP with our infamous brake system.
The fix for all the CV SP was a new master cylinder and of course high end grooved rotors with semi soft pads (recommendation NAPA). The DTR MM, sold last spring, had the best brakes I have felt on any panther and needed nothing.
Now we come to the SB. New MC, rotors/pads (NAPA spec) SS lines frt and rear, fresh fluid and still there is the long travel to engage then decent stopping but with much more effort than any of the other cars. We are trying to determine the problem, my mechanic is pumping the brake pedal to get a feel for it while I stand outside with the hood open. A casual glance underthe hood and I see the entire brake power system heaving in and out in time with the pumping! It seems the firewall is flexing allowing the booster/MC/lines/etc to push away from the pedal plunger.
Now perhaps the firewall on this particular MM is soft or missing support somewhere. The car has NO rust anywhere.
Anyone ever seen this or have any idea how to correct it?
