Some of you have followed my "want to buy" topic in the appropriate forum for the last few months. My ups, my downs, and down right frustration. Well, I found a car and was able to bring it home. I went against my own rule and bought this car sight unseen. And I must say except for one hopefully fixable repair, it may have paid off. Through a very good friend of mine locally I was able to score a 30K mile DBP Marauder from the East Coast. I wont get into details but the car was in an auction that I had access too. I won the auction and had to pay auction fees and the shipping fees. And let me say that the car should have been here last week but the vehicle shipping industry is a joke. (Not going any further into detail on that subject). After all of that, the car finally showed up on Monday November 19th after buying the car on November 6th. The trucking company proceeded to drag the rear bumper of the car and the exhaust tips off the truck scraping and damaging it. (Taking this up with them). It looks like with a wetsand a polish, maybe some small spot touch up painting that this car should be "presentable" by my standards. Lots of marks and scratches. Very odd.

However, the positive things are the interior is essentially spotless. There are a few small blemishes otherwise beautiful. The engine bay is relatively clean and the car runs and drives like a dream. Wheels are in good shape, tires are fairly new, etc. I put it on the lift today to change the oil and the underside is in super condition. I couldnt be happier honestly. I just hope when I drop it off at the local body shop next week that they can make this really cool car shine like it deserves too. I have owned a few cars in my life and I have never driven such a comfortable, responsive, and firm performance sedan. I cannot wait to start modifying it. I hate the transmission shift schedule :shake:

Here are some pics of my DBP 03 300B Marauder............... love it guys, just love it. Such a great road car............. Wish me luck on the paint...........

Congrats! That car looks damn good. Were they budget car movers? Did you notice any other nice cars on the truck? I think some of the companys just deal with cheap POS or dealer cars and don't really car what happens with them. They may be cheaper but won't always be the best choice to transport a nice car

Welcome to the madness!
If I were to buy another MM it would have to be a Blue
I would caution wet sanding, at least without a paint thickness gauge
Our clear coat is pretty soft and most stuff can de worked out with a polisher.
My car looked rough when I bought it. Now most people ask when I painted it.

As an owner of a Blue and proud member of the Marauder Blues Brothers I welcome you. The Blues Brothers hold our annual meet in Louisville every April and allow about 30-40 other Marauder owners to join in.
You have a rare Marauder there as it is the lowest production color.
When the mod bug hits, there are many great advice areas on this site for where to start.
J mod and a tune will help the trans shift schedule, gears and headers can give you a real nice upgrade of the line and boost will keep you smiling until the day you die.

Welcome

Looks great!!, Glad you finally got her home, even with a small bump and bruise. Scrape can be fixed with a little prep and paint/clear..I think it will need some base coat and not just clearcoat and while your at it, you should do the bumper sag fix as I see it is just starting to sag. (mine did too after purchasing) Hopefully the car carrier will come thru and make it right, but still a nice purchase fo sho!

Beautiful CAR // [ For bumper repairs I have used a Nationwide company called " Colors on Parade " Mobil bumper repair company ],[ dealer use ] check your internet for area location if you want. I got my front bumper repaired for 200 dollar vs 1200 for a replacement. Enjoy that beautiful car:banana2:

Wow, thanks guys. You are making me feel better already. But seriously, the paint is pretty rough unfortunately. I was very busy at work this week so my father took it over to two body shops in town. One place said no problem, measure the clear, wetsand lightly to clean up the scratches and polish. 350 but doesnt include PDR. The second place is a paint shop/dent repair that is very respected here in Kansas City. Plus, I have done work with them in the past and been very happy. He said that he will lightly sand, compound and polish, then seal. He said he would have 2 guys on the car and both of them would spend 5 or 6 hours on it, so he would need it for a day or day and a half. They paint side of the place said the rear bumper cover he felt most of the scrapes would come out but if they didnt he could paint just the lower portion. I did make it clear that this wasnt a dealer car and I didnt want them to fog paint every little mark on the car only for it to show back up later. They also do PDR. 275 for the paint/polish, 50 for the PDR. I am going to talk to them Monday in person. I will let you know which direction I go..........

Thanks for the warm welcome. And yes I am aware how rare the car is. :D It literally fell in my lap after searching for 3 months and I am glad it did. The interior, engine bay, and underside are exactly what I expected of a 30K mile car. The paint is not, hopefully that can be repaired.

The other thing is that the car clearly sat outside for a period of time. Brake rotors are all surface rusted and such. (pulling the wheels, pulling the brakes, cleaning and painting this week). But what gets me is the hard water spots embedded in the glass and paint on the passenger side and top surfaces. Oh well paint guy said it will clean up. All I can do is drop it off and see what I have when he is done!

Wow, a Dark Blue Pearl with the Charcoal interior! Those are much more rare than the light flint interior! 328 DBP Marauders made, 215 have the Light Flint, the other 113 have the Dark Charcoal. You've got the heated seats as well....217 of the 328 had them.

A big hearty welcome from the owner of #52 of the 328

I think it was more than a lawn sprinkler, maybe a hurricane? The car is getting cleaner every day in my spare time I have been focusing on cleaning certain areas. Going to a local body shop this week to be carefully wet sanded and polished so I can see what I have. I hope it comes out good, I love this color with the dark interior...................... ...

Did some work on her today. Spent most of the day with Dad working on the Marauder. Rear diff fluid, fuel filter, removed cleaned and painted all 4 brake rotors/calipers, cleaned all 4 wheels, etc. Body shop this week.

It has an odd hesitation off the brake like a caliper or ebrake is sticking. Didnt find it today. Will need to look further into this.

Check engine light came on today after disturbing the charcoal canister. (Car wont take fuel clicks the pump off every dollar). I took it all apart and cleaned everything hoping to un-stick the vent valve. Will pull codes tomorrow, love the car.

When I did the fuel filter on mine, it tripped the CEL as well. Reset the codes and it never returned.

As for your lift, wish I had one in the garage!

Yeah CEL was Fuel Pump Driver Code. (when I pulled the relay to relieve fuel pressure). Cleared no problem.

Yes, the lift is VERY useful. :)

I stopped by to "get my cell phone charger" today at the body shop where my blue car is. It was just an excuse to see it. I missed it, it has been there for 2 days. I must say it looked pretty decent. I would say that they have removed 75% of the scratches, marks, stains etc from the paint. The rear bumper cover turned out pretty good (shipping truck damaged it) but the front bumper cover is still kind rough. I will drive it through the winter and may paint the covers this spring. We will see. So far so good get to pick it up tomorrow. They have some small areas to work on but essentially it is ding free and cleaned up the best it can be without paint work. Here is what it looks like in the parking lot today. (cell phone pics)

Thanks guys. I do like the Meguires Products. I am a fan of their cleaner wax and M20 Polymer Sealant. I will try the number 7 on the hard water stains on the lower portion of the car (under the door edge guard). I was hoping the shop would do these areas but I think I got what I paid for. I dont mind doing some of it myself. I am just afraid of abrasives.

Just an update, polished all the windows last weekend with a buffing wheel and mothers glass polish/stain remover. It took a couple of hours, and made a mess but the windows are no longer hazy and spotted. Looks like they just needed a little heat.

Fixed the car not taking fuel at the gas station issue. Replaced the vent valve.

Dad and I, and a couple of friends helped me on the passenger side lower areas of the paint two weeks ago hand cleaning/polishing what the body shop missed.

So the car is coming along nicely. Luckily we have had pretty good weather here so far. Got my HID's installed, and installed my GPS.

I ordered the stainless MARAUDER letters for the rear bumper cover and think that will be a nice touch. The only other thing I am going to do to the outside of the car is window tint and hopefully a trunk spoiler in the spring.

LOVE THIS CAR!
