Purchased stainless works headers and full exhaust. The instructions given by stainless works say to jack up engine. I will be doing the install and am wondering how to raise my engine properly. I've heard about using a jack with a 2x4 and I've heard of lifting by the intake bolts. For those of you who did it yourself, how did you do it? Any other tips also would be greatly appreciated.

No need to raise the engine. Jack up the car high enough to clear the LT's, take out oil filter.
On passenger side take starter out, and unbolt the ac compressor and move it foward out of the way.
The job its cake with all of those removed.

Thank you landy. I'm very happy to hear that. I really didn't want to raise up the engine. Can't wait to get everything on. It's gonna be three weeks before its even shipped.

Hey landy what about the steering shaft? You didn't mention it so I'm assuming that I don't have to take it off? Just rotate it to get the most clearance?

Not sure on the SW, but is literally a 2 minute job and will give you ALOT more clearance. Also, you will have to bend the shifter cable bracket down towards the frame rail. It bends easily.

The headers fit nice but be ready for hangers that don;t fit well, missing parts, and the loudest raspy mufflers EVER. The slash tips don't have a rolled edge like the Megs units. They look like some AutoZone stuff. I swapped the mufflers and put the Megs tips back on. If I had it to do over I would have just kept the factory exhaust with different mufflers and the SW headers and saved a TON of money. Just my .02

The ones I've done starter didn't have to come out
The engine had to be lifted to remove the dipstick only the left hand only

You could also simply cut the flange to go around the dipstick. My headers are all separate cylinder flanged and have zero leaks. You do not need full one piece flanges, they do not provide any benefits.

i went with the s-tube mufflers. they are supposed to be stainless work's loud muffler. comparible to a magnaflow (which is what is on my car now and i love the sound)

The muffs sound better once they break in a little. Not as good as Magnaflows though.
I agree that the tips should have a rolled edge. But the chrome is nice and the quality is much better than Autozone crap.

The tips are Chrome? I was told that everything including the tips are 304 stainless steel.

Our Stainless Works (http://www.stainlessworks.net) tips are made from the same 304 stainless steel as our exhaust, mufflers, headers, etc.. and polished to a mirror like finish, much better than chrome.

This process is more durable than Chrome too!

Rode them for about 2k miles terrible every mile. I sold both for 50 bucks. The SW tips look bad next to the OEM Megs units. I don't think anyone would tell me I'm wrong. I think those went for around $100 or less when I sold them.
