So my dad wants to get some new wheels for his Marauder. He wants to get black/gun metal wheels in the stock 18" size so he can use the stock tires. No plans on lowering the car. Will these wheels fit without rubbing and without the need for spacers?

Here are the specs on the OEM stock wheel >>>> http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=83079
Looks to be an offset difference on the Bullitt wheels (50 mm vs. 36 mm) and a backspace difference on the Mustang GT wheels (6.295 inches vs 6.820 inches)
Wheels:
Backspacing: 6.295"
Offset: 50mm
Size: 18x8
Bolt circle: 5 lug, 4.5" pattern (114.3mm)
½ inch acorn style lug nuts

OEM style bullitt and mustang GT wheels like those are a direct fit, no spacers required.

I have the '06 mustang bullitt wheels and they needed a 1/4" spacer in the front.
Other than that the are good to go!

*NOTE: You will need a ¼" hubcentric spacer in the front to clear the calipers.

What ever you do dont waste your time with a 36mm offset the wheel will stick out way past the fender lip!

Have you tried those bullitt wheel without the spacers?I thought that style fit over the caliper, though it's very tight fit. I know factory 07+ 18" polished ones can have fitment problems in the front.

Yes. Without the ¼" spacer on the front, the inside of the rim will rub / come-in-contact-with the caliper.

Everyone that I know that has installed the Ford Racing Performance Parts 18" x 8½" Bullitt rims (no matter what finish) has required the ¼" spacer on the front. *UNLESS they've ground-down the calipers.
OEM / factory 18" x 8½" Mustang Bullitt rims (2008-9) may have different spec's/tolerances than the Ford Racing Performance Parts. http://www.gdmjoe.com/dunno.gif *Though I doubt it.
And ... The 2001 Mustang Bullitt rims were 17" x 7".

Instead of messing around, take the wheels off, media blast and have them powder coated gun metal and be done with it. Stock appearence + gun metal = WIN !!!! Someone here already has that combo. Charlie will be chiming in ( the resident search/remembers everything guru) ;)

I can't find anything on Gun Metal wheels at all. Change #1 -- see last link below (maybe ImpalaSlayer's put Gun Metal wheels on his Silver Birch). And, there was/is a gun metal Marauder in the Philly area.
Blackened300a and N40GL went with black chrome.

ctrlraven, usabodyguard & whitey did the black plasti-dipped.

ImpalaSlayer also did his wheels. Maybe this is the "Gun Metal" that you were thinking of >>>>> http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=51541
