I'm thinking of lowering springs on the front end. Pros and cons? Eibach springs the best choice? Is 3596.120 the correct part number? Alignment issues? Alignment specs?
Thanks.

Try Eaton Spring Co. I think they have a couple of choices.

I lowered my car with the Eibach kit several years ago. I love the look. I enjoy the handling. I appreciate the positive comments I get. I am disappointed by the harsh ride quality (wife HATES it.) It is also difficult to get a proper alignment. You MUST find a competent shop that is willing to work with you to get a good alignment. A quick alignment at the discount tire store will get you about 5k tire wear on the front. Do not cut corners (or budget) with this.

Would I do it again? Absolutely. But there is a price. You need to decide if it is worth it for you. (I also kept all the stock parts to put it back to original.)

Good luck!

Yeah, I want the look but not the hassle.

Cut 1 full coil off of the springs. It looks good and still rides good. Adjust the sensor in the rear for the rake you want before alignment. Done deal.

did you change you shocks to KYBs when you lowered it with the Eibachs?

if using Eibach's you must use KYB shocks and I would recommend SPC camber bolts and a good alignment tech.

Can't say anything about the Eibach springs - I cut the OEMs.
The SPC camber bolts are the ONLY way you will get the alignment right if you cut 1 or more coils off!

Increasing the spring rate requires more damping from the shocks for a proper ride. It is possible stiffer springs would have been acceptable with the correct dampers. Unfortunately there are few to none available for our cars, although I hope to describe a high-dollar shock solution shortly.

Lowering the rear air springs through reduced pressure also reduces their spring rate, again affecting the suspension design. Air springs do actually have a designed installed height.

It is good to keep all this in mind when playing with suspension parameters.
