Easy way to shorten front coil spring

I see several of you are cutting the spring to lower front end. This is what I came-up with, a lot easier. Spring rate does increase by 1/8 ( I believe there are 8 active coils??) which is fine with me. I used a beam clamp (as in clamp for I beams) to compress the coil for install. Stainless bolts. Mr Gasket offers a 'coil clamp device', but to big for this MM coil over. I would have preferred Ford continued with the 2002 steel front suspension, despite the 03/04 benefits. I have driven my friend's 01 Crown Vic Sport many times, feels just fine, and a greater aftermarket wheel offering.
