my pcv valve is leaking but im not sure if its the valve, the gasket, or both. has anybody here replaced theirs if so with what brand or where did you get it? i dont want an ebay one but i also dont feel like paying $90 for a piece of metal and a gasket. also did you use any kind of sealer on top of the gasket ?

Have the same issue on our SB. I've heard the factory style is hard to get, is this true? What is the Ford part number for the correct one?

Remove it and apply a thin coat of RTV Silicone....let it cure until it is not sticky to the touch then re-install and forgedaboudit!!

P/N is 2C5Z-6A892-AA I think the part cost $12-18 from the Ford dealer.
Part is called "Crankcase Ventilation Retainer", new plastic piece with a new green O-ring.
Remove your old PCV valve, remove the two screws, take off the old retainer, clean the valve cover surface and install the new retainer with the original screws and re-install the PCV valve - done.

I gutted mine and sealed it up as a fresh air inlet......PCV that closes in boost is on the driver's side now!!:D
Get the new part or seal it.....no pressure on it (I hope) and a little weeping won't hurt a thing...just looks bad!!:shake:

Did they change it? My part number isn't the same and the O-ring on mine is blue.

Doesn't the PCV have a 90* angle on the MM?

Yes it does. Heat it up with some hot water to get it off the old one and on the new one.

You know I always thought it was a one piece deal but now that I look closer at the pic I see it differently now. Thanks for the heads up Jim.

Haha I may have over estimated a little but I mean .. yea I was completely off course but I clearly got the point across haha
So whats the best fix guys? I got like 9 different responses. How about rtv with a new valve and new gasket? Sound good?

You got several different responses because without seeing your car we can't exactly say what the problem is.

Well the valve itself is only like $10 plus the rtv I have and the gasket its cheap. I have a female person that works for an automotive parts warehouse type place and she gets like 65% off everything so im not too worried. If it doesnt work ill just keep buying stuff. Its my car so I throw parts at it. Only making it better.
You have less than 6 thousand miles on your car!
Your pcv valve shouldn't need to be replaced!
Why do you think you need to change it?

Well I know but its leaking for sure. I cleaned it about a week after I bought it then a month then 4 months and now its just got to go. Its inexpensive so I dont mind just getting a new one.

I have some pretty good friends. Haha where I worked at we would get parts at cost plus 10% so if something was $8 I paid 8.80 total. Quarts of 5w20 full syn mobil 1 were 5.20 or so. I still call them for my parts. I got 2 bfg tires for my marauder as spares for 112 each. Nittos were like 121 or 122. Of course they were a little bigger but still. My girl gets 65% off parts at her job which is sweet. It works out pretty well.

It's just easier to replace the pcv retainer than to rtv it.
