I drove back from Port St Lucie Florida Thursday night after getting Hospice started with my Father In Law, I came home to take my wife for some tests in Miami.
So last night I get back from a day with my wife at the MRI center (another story), I check my emails and have one from a neighbor who tells me he came over to my house and found 2 peacocks on my car and shooed them off.
Well they did the yabba dabba dooo burnout on their way.:bigcry:
There are curls of clear coat that look like potato peels
Pics to follow as soon as I can be close to it long enough to take some pictures without throwing up..:mad2:
Looks like I get to find out how well my new collector car policy works
I will also be posting my results with rotisserie peafowl.

Oh MAN, Gary!
If anyone can fix something like this, you can.

I've had problems with both mine and the neighbors cats scratching my clear coat. Even through a car cover. They all stay away now thanks to airsoft. :D

I've been leaning towards using something a little more "hard". I hadn't thought of going the airsoft route - sounds like a good idea!

They get the message. I started using one for Christmas tree protection a few years ago.

I'm talking about 22 shorts, they make less noise than my 177 pellet gun.
It's raining right now so I can't get out there and muster enought courage to wash all of the debris off of the car the birds left when they camped out and see just how many scratched there are.
I saw several in the 6-8 inch range that penetrated the clear.
I don't think it's going to buff out...:bigcry:

That sucks Gary....I know you will work your magic... Hopefully just a clearcoat issue at worst.
Stock up on Marinade.... Peacock meat might be on the tough side:cool:
That sucks man!
But if anyone can get it back to showroom I know it's you!

Oh man you must be heart broken after all that hard work getting the mirror finish.
I have the same issue with the neighborhood cats. They destroyed my car cover and have put small scratces in the paint. The worst is the spraying. I have given the neighbor fair warning and the only thing keeping them breathing is Ms.D.
We'll keep your wife and father in our thoughts.
Thought you might enjoy this link with a nice Chardonnay :)

Works with Coyotes, don't know about peacocks. Pee in a cup when you first wake up and pour to make a perimeter. Repeat every week.
Since they are called peacocks I don't know if pea from a **** will work?
If you cause them harm you get caught and will face jail time. If they migrate then it is strict criminal liability, no mal intent need be proven and mandatory jail time.

For some reason there is not squirrels, cats or birds around my cars. Could be that new pellet gun? 1200 Ft per second and quiet.

How about an alarm that sounds like a dog barking?
I've thought about installing a dog barking horn sound to move the Canadian Geese out of the road.

Damn that really sucks. But pellet guns/bb guns/airsoft guns work wonders. We'd had some problems with woodchucks in our backyard and sometimes racoons. You hit them they take off running. And puts a smile on your face without doing any real damage:)

Woodchucks do a lot of damage. They = 22LR CCI Stinger to the head. Problem solved. Then again I do live in a rural area so this may not be appropriate where you live.

I have a Covercraft Sunbrella cover.
Problem is I had just rolled into town the night before around midnight, driving through rain so the car was filthy, way to dirty to put the cover on.
24 hours later and it wouldn't have been a problem.
Looked at a bit more yesterday and most of them will polish out. there are 2-3 marks right where the peacocks first dug in that I think are there to stay.
I haven't called the insurance company yet.
Still debating. Once I start polishing I doubt they will do anything for me so I have to wait until Monday.

Anybody thinking of a GARAGE?
I think Garage daily, just before I found out my wife has to have surgery I was planning on building one this spring.
Problem is where I leave it takes an act of Congress to break ground.
Biological surveys and permits will be about 15K.
Then the building built to 150 MPH code will run about 75K.
(Yes, all of our buildings have to meet or exceed 150 MPH wind ratings, then we have to purchase separate wind and flood insurance policies above and beyond our homeowners policies.)
With what now looks to be a costly 2013 due to family health issues it's probably going to stay on the backburner.

Yeah don't think neighbors would like that. They got traps out for them but its not stopping them I guess

Traps? The only way to get rid of them is to croak em. Traps, for what? To release them to destroy someone else's property or so a cow can break its leg? They are considered a varmint here.
If they really want to catch it, rats usually have two burrough entrances. Plug one and put a water hose down the other. It will come up... Then hope the damn thing isn't rabid...

Like jaw traps. Who knows what the HOA is thinking. Only reason I know of them is when we were kids playing in the creek some parents came out and told us to be careful because the traps back there to catch them

Full auto is something I can get behind!
Wish my Thompson was full auto - but it empties the 50 round drum pretty fast in semi!!:D

Very good point. Someone points that at a armed person and it will end badly. I thought they were supposed to have a orange muzzle?

He has it on base. Everyone has access to much heavier firepower without anyone looking out of place. Point taken though. God help those families with their pain and grief.

Ok, I though we were talking about a younger person. Heck, people have been shot for the way they handled a cell phone. One guy committed suicide by cop that way.
We had a man with a gun call and it turned out be a BB pistol, but the nitwit didn't listen to my instructions and started pulling it out of his pants. I drew down on him. I never saw the blood drain out of someone's face that quickly before. IIRC, he had a wet spot you know where. I guess the end of that .40cal looked like a cannon. :D The moral is if someone in uniform, with a gun, driving a marked police car, tells you to do something, its a real good idea to do it.

Absolutely I hear where your coming from. I am a peace officer at a college in ny and in full uniform I would still listen to someone from another agency to get on the ground.

So I got a chance to dig in on this Saturday
With my trusty paint thickness gauge I found I had 10mil of paint on the trunk, 9mil on the rear quarter and 7mil on the roof.
So I busted out the Flex rotary polisher, cut it down real quick with Menzerna Intensive Polish, followed by a quick (3.5 hrs) trip around the car with my PC7424 and Menzerna final polish.
A quick coat of Dodo Juice Purple Haze and unless you know where to look you couldn't find it.
Took it to a car show yesterday and took another best engine plaque.
So, moral of the story? Never underestimate the power of the polisher!
But the peacocks are still on the endangered species list around my neck of the woods.
