In case anyone is wondering where the practical limit is, this just on the other side. 18x10 with 7.93 backspace. BFG 265/40/18 has 9.5" effective tread width, 11.2 section width on these 10" wheels. Turn radius is compromised with rim and tire rubbing on upper control arm, and to close for comfort to the brake hoses and ABS wires. I need to make a turn stop gizzmo. Reducing the backspace any might bring the tread width to close to rubbing the fender lip, especially when I plan to reduce the camber to neg 1/4. What some car nuts go through!! But I love it. And then I need to lower the front just a 'lil more.

Not for me, thanks anyway Tom. I've got 255/50/18 on MM rims on the front now, with slight rubbing under specific conditions. I had 255/45/18 with no problems. I'm already lowered to what I believe is the max, and I'll be going back to the 255/45 size soon.

Nice to see the creative thinking though, thanks!

Tom, did I miss a thread where you tell us where you got those rims? More pics would be nice and they look awsome on you MM!

That is EXACTLY the look in tires on the front I'm looking for. DO you have the same tires all the way around? Pics! More pics!

As for the rears, I've got mine on the lift to change the oil and am trying to see if I can engineer relocating the rear shocks to allow for a wider rim in back.

That's a nice set man. Who made it?

All that meat on the rims looks wonderful. Too bad about the tight fit.

There is a lot of room in the rear wheel wells, how wide a rim are you considering, John?

Seeing the widened MM rims only go 9.5, I'd like to see 11-12" so a good sized 335 would fit. Of course, this is all dreaming unless I can get Lidio to really make me a W-I-D-E set of rims...

Cheers!

Wheels are from Colorado Custom, Empire III style. On rear I have 18x10 (7.85 backspace) with 285/40/18 Dunlop 9000. If anyone is serious, send me a priv mess.

Those really look nice. Thanks for the name of the company. I was at their website a second ago and did not see where they specified backspacing. Are all of their rims custom made? (seeing as they get pricey, I'm guessing yes!)

18x10 in the front and 20x12 for the rears... Hmmm...
