Just talked to a local south Florida guy who's looking to sell his wrecked 04 SB with LF interior and 72k on the clock with rear spoiler. Car has rear damage but is repairable. Pics coming soon.
Sell price is $3,700
*he is willing to part it out ONLY if some of the big items go first. (Interior, motor/trans)
**pics will show car with aftermarket wheels but I'm looking to purchase them so car will possibly be sold with 03-04 MGM/CV steels on it.
***says motor has always had a "ticking"

Thia has been on the market for awhile. A good fixer upper for the right person.

Wouldn't touch it without a compression test.
That body repair looks minor but may be more extensive underneath.

My 04 "ticks" at idle very faint. Not a noticeable one though never had a mechanic notice it either. Should i have one done?

I've actually thought of getting it but I'm not sure how much would it take out the wallet to get body & motor fixed if there is a motor issue. Or maybe even get it stroked or forged for future project

I want the spoiler. $125 cash. I can get one for 150 but id rather help the guy out or somebody here. I could use somr things off that car but its about 1200 miles from me and I dont have the finacial support. If anyone does buy this ill definitely buy the wing immediately.

I had an 03 that "ticked" I later found out that it had a cracked cylinder

How'd you find out. Motor went?
Mine has been since I had it ...roughly 20k miles ago

The difference between "always had a ticking" and (as the ad states) "motor is now making some noise" is a big difference, that's why I said I'd do the compression test.

Actually I did a compression test and had new plugs so I thought I may have damaged the plug holes and I put a camera thing down in there from one of my guys at work and there was a huge splinter crack. Plus I slowly was eating oil. New ticking noises are never good. Ford always has a tap, cadillac always knocks. New noises and always noises are different haha nothing new is ever good unless its expensive and still tight........

I may do one to be safe or just screw it. I'm at 147 now. Just let it go until its time to rebuild. Car performs great. No issues and its not a loud tick

Well you should be fine because you have to remember these cars have 32 valves constantly opening and closing so theres got to be some noise. Its impossible for it to be quiet. My car had a random misfire in cylinder 7 all the time and I changed the coil thinking thst was it. If you have no other signs of issues then youre fine. If you do a compression test and its leaking then you could have a whole bunch of issues including head gasket, rings, valves being stuck open (loose rockers or just bad valves), could he bad tming on your part too. Make sure youre on the correct stroke and correct top dead center on the cylinder youre checking.
