DTR appearance mods to consider

Hey all, what are some peoples opinions on painting the grille insert on a Dark toreador Red marauder flat black, and putting on an oem rear spoiler painted flat black? I think that will go nice with the DTR, waddya think?

I think the black grille spokes black would work fine, but not the spoiler.

For what it's worth, you can Plasti-Dip your grille spokes flat black and it is removable. I did that with my Grand Marquis and it came out awesome!

i personally dont really like it the way mine looks. i would much rather have the black because of having the blacked out windows, the black wheels i just got, the black inserts ill be getting, the dark interior and painting my calipers black as well. i like the contrast between the black and birch.

I painted my badgeless grille black and the rear spoiler DTR to match the body color when I put them on earlier this year and am very happy with the result...but I had thought seriously about doing the reverse...still wonder how it would look.
I do like the stripes on 1stMerc...very nice job.

why not some Redline blue lettering floormats? subtle enough no one will see from outside.

I was VERY close on getting the JLT Blue intake...maybe you can do that to rep the blue brothers?

And ive experimented a lot with my DTR ;) ;)
I did think about painting the spoiler black just to see how it looks, but eehhh i doubt the it. (did want to do the sidemirrors blackthough)

+1 The spoiler isn't a wing, it blends into the body lines and will look really "just slapped on". Plus flat black anything looks good for 6 months then looks like crap.

Yea I bought a spare set and had them painted gloss black. Well hes painting them now actually.

Oh ok. Hope they hold up, im paiting mine in the near future. I love MM wheels in black. Ultimately I will be Powdercoating them but that's later when I take my MM back to its birth color DTR

He said thats going to strip them down completely and start from bare aluminum. He said that the clear coat he uses is like some crazy amount per gallon or whatever but he did good body work on my other cars so I believe he will. Hes a good friend of mine and long time neighbor which was nice plus he only charged me 25 per wheel. Hes doing the center caps as well.

Will do. I told him its no rush since the holidays are coming and that I wont be driving that much but I want them now. Really bad haha ill take a million And a half pictures when they are completed.
