Just replaced the OEM Mufflers with the Magnaflows 11235 Mufflers and the car feels and sounds soooooo much better!!! My MM has never ran this good since I bought it almost 2 years ago. I can blame that on the OEM COP's that everybody on here swears theres nothing wrong with them. Well Il tell you what, I dumped 33 G's into my MM already and it never pulled until now. DSM COP's brought my car back to life.
Earlier today I had the Magnaflows Mufflers welded in, 3 on each Mufflers. What I like about the Magnaflows is they have a Lifetime Warrenty on their Mufflers. Which is very nice of em!!:D
Now im tryna figure out what I should do to wake the Mufflers up a bit. I know all 4 of my CATs have never been touched on this car so im lookin for some advice on what should I do. It just sounds so restricted now having the CATs and I wanna get the full potential of the Magnaflow Mufflers.
Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!!:burnout:

I have the same magnaflows on my 05 crown vic lx sport. I wasnt so happy when installing the magnaflows because it wasnt so loud. I was looking for a marauder sound but just alittle louder and deeper. Gave the mufflers a 2 months and still didnt notice no big change. I then had the rear cats delete and the after math was just perfect. Not to loud but not to quite. Sound was just great! It's not a raspy sound. Its a deep melow note which sounds beautiful when you punch it.
If I was you, Id delete the rear cats. You will love the sound after words.

^^^^What he said.
I had the Magnaflows. Not enough sound......rear cat delete and perfecto.
I have the full Stainless Works headers and exhaust system, and I may switch the mufflers to stainless Magnaflows. That's how much I like them.

The Magnaflows that I got are the straight through type w/perforated cores and "packing" in the space between the perforated core and the outer case.
The packing lasted all of 40 minutes until right after the first tripple digit blast. They were actually too quite when the packing was not burned out.
Three years latter and they have stopped getting any louder - I like the way they sound now!

Another thing I took up on the Highway last night and did 122 MPH and I started smelling a egg yolk smell?? Could this be the CATs? This might sound dumb but are their Resonators in the front CATs? The Only Resonators I was familiar with are in the back Tailpipes from Megs. Not sure if the CATs have em too. The rear 02 Sensors were changed too about 2 months ago.
I dont wanna leave the CATs on this car for long. They gota be going bad sometime soon after all the abuse I put to the car.

Rotten egg smell is due to the cats, but doesn't mean they are going bad, just buring excess fuel and carbon from hard WOT runs. There are no resonators on the exhaust system other than in the original tips. You can remove the rear cats and be fine, if you remove the front cats then you'll have to get a tune that has the cat monitors deleted, or build a set of simulators (costs about 12 bucks)

Well Well Well my Friend,, If you Elect to remove the rear Cats YOU will get the Desired Effect of great performance and the Marauder will be LOUD During Accelerating and if you have a JLT intake hooked up you will really Irritate the Neighbors. It will have that 1971 Cobra Jet WAHHHHHHAA Sound:burnout: Happy MARAUDERING//

More great discussion here on the site today and timely for me too...I just got my res delete tips from Rich yesterday and when I get the guys at my muffler shop to install those, my plan has always been to take the 2nd cats off as well. Sounds like (no pun) that is exactly what I should do to create a much better sound (along with the K & N air intake I put on last year) for The Major.
Thanks folks.

Not necessarily. My MM has NO cats and didn't have to be retuned. Never threw a code either.

Adios the rear cats, if you don't have smog then let them all go. Hell you'll breathe better and if they do it right then you'll have no codes thrown. And before everyone says you can't.
My MM has NO cats, Borla mufflers into some borla 4" tips ...it wakes the streets up and everything in it lol but its not obnoxiously loud. when I'm riding at cruising speed she's as silent as she wants ...until I nail it to pass a slow vehicle.
I turned off of a BUSY main road to pull on to Roylpita street, gave it gas to get down the street and he said he heard me coming from inside his house. I always get the "that thing sounds mean man, what's in it" compliment.

My DTR had the Flowmaster 40's on it when I bought it, and in all honesty they are a little droney for my tastes. I have Magnaflows on my Vic and they sound better to me.
