I seafoamed the car yesterday and today it threw a CEL. Hooked it up to my code reader and its a P2197- Bank 2 O2 Sensor stuck lean. Is there a way to clean it or does it need to be replaced?

That's why I won't put Seafoam in the intake manifold. Works great in the gas tank though.

With that being said I would install new o2. sensors and probably do seafoam thru the gas tank as mentioned next time, the o2 sensors are extremely sensitive

Thanks for the input. I've never had an issue running it through the intake on any other cars. Lesson learned I suppose. Will running it this way for a week (next paycheck) cause any damage, or should I drive my 2002 Crown Vic until then?

A lot of guys do this. Just not for me.

If you ran the can of sea foam through the intake, most likely that's why the CEL is on, clear it and drive a couple of days and see if it comes back. With over 100k miles I would replace both anyway since they are bound to be on the slow side.

Here at the shop, we ALWAYS recommend replacing ALL of the o2's at the same time. The computer looks at the o2's together, as a team. If you replace one at a time it will then set a code for the next slowest switching sensor. More often than not, we get the car coming back with the light on. People really hate hearing that they have to pay for another diagnosis for another o2 a week later.
