Hey guys just bought my first MM a few months ago and I'm interested in supercharging it. I'm also considering going forged pistons and rods to achieve 450+ safely. Is their anyone in south Florida that owns a eaton swap marauder? Will needhelp installing once I have everything I need. Here is the parts list

Mo's Speed Shop can help you with the install.

Where'd you come up with the parts list?

I got an email from Rex including the list. I believe it was you that helped me on a different thread

I haven't heard/seen of any eaton swapped MMs in our area. But there may be a few trilogy guys who can help. After reading the process of doing the eaton it doesn't seem too hard of a Job. You seem confident enough to tackle it but yes as the other post stated Mos would be your place if you chose a shop. He's up in GA so it's a bit of a ride but everything is there down to the dyno you'll leave ready to fly. If I had the funds I'd be at Mos

A lot of those parts could be purchased for cheaper it all depends on how deep you dig for them and how much you can negotiate.

Good luck

It ends soon, but this might be a deal. He's also located in Fort Lauderdale and has more eaton swap parts.

I was at work and miss out on the bid. I'm getting all the info together for the swap creating a checklist. I'm gettin my local mechanic and a great transmission specialist involved into my MM project. Code name: BeastMode. I plan on starting this project Feb. 2013

Absolutely! That's one of the great things about doing the Eaton swap, if you're patient, do a lot of seaching and are willing to do some wheeling and dealing, you can get the majority of the parts for a very reasonable price.

Forged rods and piston. What is the best site to to get these? With a compression of 10.1 not trying to run a lot of boost maybe 12-13lbs

Are you keeping the stock crank. You'll need the rotating assembly balanced wether new or not. You'll want flat to pistons. Our stock ones are actually 3cc dish! (hard to tell until you put a level on em)

Yes I was planning to keep the stock crank from what I've read their good for about 500+. My goal is between 450-500rwhp. My local mechanic quoted me $800 so pull the motor, replace the bottom end and put everything back together, but he never mentioned anything about balancing the rotating assembly.

You can use the stock crank, but, you should have it balanced. If the new forged pistons and rods weigh any different than the stockers (they will) The counterweights on the crank may need weight added or subtracted. The block will have to be honed if not bored and possibly decked. If it does need to be bored, lets say 0.020 over, you will then need to get pistons 0.020 over stock. Rings will need to be sized.

Would I still need the assembly balanced if I purchase the crank? I plan on purchasing the parts from the same company for the best match posible

Most companies offer balancing services for a complete rotating assembly. I've done this twice with two engines. Purrs like a kitten, runs at the track like a ***** ape. Redline at 8k, only ran it to 7k so far.

No problem! Just remember, that block you'll use should be checked by an engine shop before you order parts.
