I wouldn't have one!! I could barely afford getting my 04 in 2011..but I would like to see how it was received by the general public as a new car in 2012. Very interesting.

It would probably be ruined by fwd and a lame V6...

No, I doubt it. The Marauder would now be stickered at $42,665 just factoring in average inflation from the original MSRP sticker of $35K. Add a couple more bells and whistles like MyFORDSync, Navigation, and other "upgrades" that FORD is adding to most higher end cars and it would likely be in the $45,000 range.

The American public seems to like ecoboxes and the Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Hyundai line of cars. They are more interested in MPG than performance. They certainly are not interested in paying top end fuel prices for 93 Octane. Many young owners would probably be priced out of the $45K market just like they were back in 2002. The same folks would buy a 2012 Marauder. I doubt whether they would sell 15,000 of them now. The public just ain't interested. Moreover, most of them wouldn't know how to handle one. JMHO.

Might be interesting from the perspective of the 300C and the upcoming Chevy SS.

The 300C sells in enough flavors and numbers that it continues to be sold. We'll see about the SS.

Ford seems quite committed, outside of the Mustang, to stick to 3, 4, and 6 cylinders driving the fronts or AWD. Lincoln is supposed to be doing more than warming up Ford models so I think a Coyote powered unique-to-Lincoln sedan would be awesome.

I am pessimistic about the likelihood, however.

Ford has all but abandoned RWD, except for the Mustang and the trucks. GM and Chrysler are adding to their ranks with the new Buick GN and the Caprice and the Charger & Challenger...even Scion and Hyundai are adding RWD models...I fear my next new car will not be a Ford.

If a new Marauder looked just the slightest of today's cookie cutter garbage. And it most likely would. Forget it.

If another marauder came out now, it would take away that feeling of owning a special car, IMHO

If the Marauder came out now, as it did for the 2003MY, it would be way overpriced and underpowered. 302HP for $35k? Nobody would pay for it when you can get a new GT for that money.

I don't disagree, but you can't put people comfortably in the back of a GT, nor can you load up the trunk and go on vacation for a week.

Marauder with a 5.0 would be the ****!!!

The 2003 Marauder, if it were introduced as just the same, would not sell in 2012. It's too big, too flashy and not cut from the same fuel efficient/green cloth that cars are nowadays. The Marauder is the antithesis of the trendy cars nowadays and that's what I love about it!

But, if they did bring it back for 2013, it would be FWD, midsized and powered by a V6. "Mercury's" version of the SHO, but without Mercury, they couldn't reintroduce it.

If the marauder was put on the market today it would be smaller, FWD and no real power, not the car we enjoy now. The trend in cars is for MPG not thrills:mad:

It's a bold new world of autos now. Glad I got a big RWD V-8 to cruise the highways:)

It probably would have sold better if they marketed it AT ALL.
By the time most people even heard of them, they were already out of production.

It would be a flop. People care too much about fuel economy now and saving the earth and having tiny cars and being hip. Screw that. I love fossil fuels in my vehicles burning rubber and driving cars most people wouldn't consider cars for them

I think it depends on their market strategy. remember one if the reasons the Marauder failed is it didn't have the successful marketing behind it.

it's possible if the Marauder was released 2012/2013 AND was marketed right, it might just surprise you. after all even with ECO& MPH & "green", there are still folks who buy SS, 5.0s, & Hemi Srt8s. there is a market for horsepower

Yeah...look what they did to the Cougar.

I cringe when one of those turds pulls on the drive...was a 2 door contour with MORE problems than a contour

Noone could sell it because Mercury doesn't exist but if you're gonna dream it would basically be a black 4-door GT500.

Ford needs to ship over some of the aussie svt falcons in left hand drive. i probably couldn't afford one , but it would be sweet!

It would be a Taurus with Mercury badging.

Better than being a re-badged Fusion.

I don't think so as FORD would forsure **** it up.......either be a FWD or AWD trying to be sporty........ain't gonna happen.......my azz isn't gonna be in a new ford unless it's a new stang or F series truck as for the sadens....ugly ugly.....
they need to have a sporty rear drive like in the UK...FALCON anyone...........
