WOW...I had not seen these.

Doom, these things happen because not everything can get done in time. Sometimes businesses lack the funding to complete the project, other times it's abandoned because they think there is a low demand. Like the Marauder, it was a unique car, a special car. What happens to special and rare products? They hardly sell because the companies think their time and money is better invested into marketing teams that can sell 500,000 F-150s as suppose to 50,000 Marauders if they had the chance.

It's all about the money. When you search for unreleased products or find bootlegs, it's amazing what you will find. When I read the book Drive, they devote a whole chapter to making a remake of Thunder Road, but say it was never released because they couldn't get permission... or BUY permission. Then said the best things in Hollywood never get released.

Correct. And what does get releases are SEQUELS, PREQUELS and REMAKES! all in 3-D of course.

for great movies you have to look at the independent circuit, but hollywood has such a stranglehold on the distribution these indie movies never get the recognition they deserve. One or 2 will make it through. The rest you gotta find by WOM and get them on Netflix or something. which is a shame.

I wasn't quoting anyone and who is Timothy? You bring up a good point and your quote makes more sense, so thank you for the information.

BTW the singer in my band thinks cars are evil. Then said it's because of the drivers because the average Joe is stupid and these people are operating cars. I know there is more to his judgement then he is telling me. At least we both like Sam and Dave.

If instead of 11,xxx marauders made it would just be a crown vic on steroids that is overpriced and eventually would have fallen off as the crown vic has and been replaced by the SHO. Mercury is gone so the marauder would be too. Theres already a gt500 so they wouldnt put that motor in these cars and for 55k fully loaded no one would buy them. People always say that the marauder should have been continued but in reality if it was then we wouldnt be talking here now. Theres a gt500 forum somewhere that people are on daily and include those who had one of the originals. The marauder was discontinued in the 60s or 70s as was ours. This car was never a car of the future and im sure the developers knew that. They needed a car to compete with the impala but not destroy it.

Big car vs big car. Ford vs chevy. Chevy won the performance part but lost the design part in my opinion. You can do a hundred times more mods to an impala even in its old age than you can to a marauder. The maximum performance of a stock impala vs stock marauder builds is just ridiculous. I love my marauder but I came to terms with the fact that on stock setups these arent fast cars they are performance luxury cars. Exciting as the car is and as fun as it is to drive its just not a performance ready car. If it was there surely would be much more performance parts available.

Adding to the collector car idea I think it was a collector car from the factory. They knew this car would get the attention of the older crowd who knew the original marauder and it would just sweep them up, which it most certainly did. I had a guy offer to trade me his 69 dodge charger rt fully restored with 80k original miles with original paint for my car because he test drove a silver marauder in early 2003. He wanted it since then and he said he would trade me in a heartbeat. Collectors are a breed of people not a group and with saying that you have to understand that the marauder is easily one of the most forgotten and misu derstood cars that ford has made. It will always be in the shadow of the mustang which is sad to say.

Figured while bored on christmas eve id throw in my one cent of opinion. I probably will be stoned soon but hey its reality. Merry christmas ! :beatnik:

Eric keep in mind that this was 10 years ago!

The first marauders hit the streets in 02!

At that time there was no other sedan on the market putting down those numbers.

The charger didn't come out until 06! And Chevy pissed off the bowtie boys by making the impala a FWD V-6!

Ford had the american performance sedan all to themselves in 02 - 05!

That's the reason why Steve Babcock wanted to do a factory S/C marauder in 05. He wanted to have it out before the charger hit the streets!
