Anybody there with black Marauder rims? I need a picture of them. I canīt decide between black or polish. At present, my rims are high polish compressed (Hoch-Glanz-Verdichtet in german, you can google it)! But they havenīt any protection.
Now i have the choice between a transparent powder coating or black powder coating.

Go with the clear, black looks good at times, but you cant beat chrome on a sunny day. Just ask doom...plus if you ever wanted to go black, you could plastidip them, and the coating could be peeled off later, giving you your chrome back. In the case of plastidip...once you go black, you can still go back.

I purchased a set of Black 2010 OE Style wheels in gloss black to use a winter wheel. I have to say I REALLY like them. I might even buy the chrome ones to use as a summer wheel just because I like the look that much.

Not that you're asking for votes, but I agree with the people who voted to stick with polished, as well as the person who said you can Plasti-Dip if you wanna see black rims on your car with no major $ investment.

I don't know about those black wheels. maybe its because they are mounted on your winter tires or maybe its the lighting in the picture. I really liked your wheels when you first plasti dipped them, but these pics aren't doing it for me...

Those are 18X8 wheels, 235/50 up front and 255/55 in the rear. I think the plasti dipped stockers would of looked better in gloss black and not matte.

looking at your pictures again. is it just me or is your passenger corner lamp tinted in this picture? it looks blacked out but in the 2nd picture, looks clear. Maybe just an optical illusion:confused:

No optical delusion ... That pic' is from 2004 and my 1st set of power coated rims. The corner lamps at that time were clear, tinted black. The corner lamps were swapped-out for the Marauder's later that year.

The 2nd pic' is from 2007 and the 2nd set of power coated rims.

They look great. Im still waiting on my neighbor to get my spare set painted. I went with gloss black also and I hope they look the same haha
