View Full Version : A- Pillar gauges.
Guys I'm thinking about going with an A- pillar gauge pod.
Can everyone here running them please post up pics of your A- pillar gauge pods and what gauges you're using?
Right now I'm currently running autometer Ultra-Lite II's and have BOOST and trans temp!

I'll snap a pic for you when I get home, but mine is a dual with Autometer boost and AFR. I also mounted my Bluetooth and line lock in the available space above the top gauge.

Currently running two analog gauges and one Aeroforce.
Top: Fuel Pressure
Middle - Areoforce: IAT and Engine Temp (will set to scan mode when I get wideband sensor installed)
Bottom: Boost

I have a custom leather wrapped 3 gauge pod pillar, currently I have a boost gauge on the bottom, a fuel pressure in the middle and a dummy boost gauge on the top. The next parts I buy will be aeroforce interceptor gauges and I'll replace the fuel pressure gauge and the dummy gauge with them. I'll take pictures when I get home, it probably won't be until tomorrow though.

Amazon and ebay, if something requires a sender unit just have to make sure the gauge is being sold with it.
Also the gauge TYPE and STYLE play a factor in the pricing.

Yep,
- Transmission Temperature....you want to know if you are cooking the transmission hauling azz up a long hill out of overdrive.
- Real Oil Pressure....you will be alarmed at how low the oil pressure gets while idling at a traffic light on a hot summer day.
- Oil Temperature....you would be amazed at how long it takes for the engine's oil to warm up after a cold winter night.

I was thinking that it would be sharp to get two gauges on the column at 11 and 1 o'clock(or 10 and 2, however you call it).

IIRC, That was an Autometer gauge pod for a Ford F250 truck.
It fits our steering column like a glove! (The pod's 'shell' covers the top half of the steering column.)
I think that the newer Autometer gauge pods mount the gauge on the right side of the column.
I have a coolant temperature gauge mounted in the pod with a sensor under the intake manifold/in the block.
The OEM water temperature gauge still works too.

I agree 100%....am going to get rid of stock gauges soon for 'real ones'; bought them a while ago, but am waiting to see if FBM can change the white light to blue.
I also would like to know what the temps are on tranny and coolant. I want actual numbers, not some needle that says its halfway between 'C' and a line...

I saw the one Takedown has at MVX which a member custom made from an actual MM colum cover. You could not tell it wasn't stock, beautiful work! :bows:

I know. In (spirited) driving, I'm more focused forward than to the side. Even low on the column, I may be able to reference column-based gauges more easily. Just me.
Kinda like a "Pony" Mustang gauge setup.

It's the lighting in the quality cell phone pic. You'll see it in person at the upcoming Kentucky meet.
Auto meter sells single and dual a-pillar gauges.
The black ring is a part of the A/F gauge and software package. I'd have to paint it to match but it's not a priority.
