I am still on the hunt for a shortblock.
The GMQ got a used motor and built trans, so that set my new motor for the Marauder plans back a tad.
I contacted both options from earlier (posts) tries but neither panned out.
The Marauder got torn down this week and I got luckey that nothing else was damaged in the carnage.
Thanks to yjmud for the continued support!
If you see a 4.6 block, Marauder oil pan, oil pick-up,head bolt kit for sale,
throw a link on me again TIA!:banana2:

Bradley -stock block is good for 800+ hp. Never heard of a block failing-usually internals -oil pump, rods, pistons. You should grab the free stock block and have Z-man build it. Get the block prepped and then put in the good parts-you could even stroke it.
That's the way I and alot of people went. Good Luck.

Man. Take the free block Bradley. Take the money saved from that and buy some bullet proof parts for it and crank up the boost:burnout:

For the money, quality and durability the Cobra Ford Reman is a choice I would make again. Ford used the best components available when they built it. Forged steel crank, forged pistons and forged H beam rods.

Zacks deal is the best I've heard, I think part of the deal was to have his buddy do some work on it, I could be wrong but awful hard to turn it down! Ahhhhh but hell you got the money, just have to dust off the years of dust, but it should still work, money that is!

Brad, sell the GM to get the Cobra funding and do it right... or lower your boost for the Lincoln setup.
I still say if you are leaning towards a Mark 8 engine... why would you want to buy it if Zack offered you the Marauder block for free? If you are putting all these goodies in an engine block, save yourself the money and take Zacks. Or it sounds like you just might throw in the lincoln engine and call it a day. Again, if you do that as it, please lower the boost so it won't break again.

I like the idea of the aluminum block for the weight difference between the iron block(Cobra) and the aluminum. The lighter Teksid block has the reinforcements and better flow of coolant like the Cobra block.
Cobra blocks are "Dime a dozen" according to DSS.
No matter how many miles are on a shortblock, they are still dissasembled and redone so there is no appreciable savings suppling your own shortblock.

I hope you have a BIG Checkbook working with DSS to build you a motor. Remember they still send the heads out and by the time you are done you are looking at what -$7,000-$9000 without installation. Then you still have to get it installed and get it tuned right.
Look at Livernois Motorsports in Michigan and some more places before you place the order.
I have been their and almost pulled the trigger but found some cheaper alternatives. Dont get hung up on the block -again a stock aluminum block is good for over 800 HP and when is the last time you heard of someone having a stock aluminum block break? If you are that worried about it then go iron block and dont worry about it at all . Weight is only like 60 lbs more and you can easily stroke it out plus you can pick up one cheaper from what I have heard.
I sure wouldnt spend the money on the block but would spend it on the goodies that go inside. Just my .02 and good luck on your build.

DSS quoted me 3500 for a built Shortblock, My heads, lower manifold, and intercooler are still good.
I have to get the heads freshened up( 4-500) and someone to assemble the top and bottom.
I was hoping to be around five thousand but that is not going to get me all the goodies, I would like.

You should have your heads checked and redone especially since you blew up your motor. I would not spend the money on a built shortblock and not have the heads redone. You might also want to consider upgrading the cams while you are it.
Good luck with your build.
