Anyone else have a dumb purchase that makes you say to yourself "What the hell was I thinking?

Like the....sigh - bra. Never installed it. Couldnt bring myself to do it. Sold that puppy!

Or the rear bumper "Bib"? Never installed it either. Its out in the garage - somewhere.

What's the rear bumper bib all about? Never seen a post about it before this one. Is it like a front end bra? :dunno:

Only thing I've ever regretted installing on The Blackbird was a Police Interceptor badge shortly after we bought it. Took it off after a couple of years when I realised it was a dumbass thing to do. It's on my lawnmower now.

No regrets on the bra nor the bumper bib.

Used the bra twice and like using the bumper bib at car shows.

How does the bib thing stay there ? Do you have to mount it or maybe velcro?

Also does anyone have a picture with the bra on it ? I kind of like that idea for a long distance ride to prevent rock chips.

I prefer single DIN. The moutning plate has a storage slot for excess gap. Its great for the random floating CD & a pen or 2.

MM can have slot above or below. I prefer above. :D

Yea I was going to assume there had to be a slot. I remember putting one of those in with the flip up screen. Do you have any experiencr installing the doube dins? I want to buy one but I want to make sure it has the usb plug for the steering wheel controls but im not sure what to look for.

Never owned a double DIN.

My SDIN has USB on front for audio. I got the steering wheel control adapter for it which hooks in to the main receiver plug.

Hmm. Im not really knowledgable when it comes to audio equipment. I bought an eclipse avn5510 like two years ago which had the port but I didnt install it and it was in a different car so I cant even use it as a reference. Might have to get in touch with you when time comes for me to buy something.

I really won't be able to help you with much.

Contact Pops, he is all knowing when it comes to audio & MM's. He answered a couple questions for me on a sub project I did: http://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=81384

Also, I have been dealing with the folks at Crutchfield for 30+ years. They are very helpful & will answer all your questions, make recommendations and follow up service is awesome.

Double DIN is the way to go if you want a NAV system. Very easy to install in the Marauder's space if you know what to trim.....

The bra, a marauder front plate that shattered, and a locked Excal 2 that is good at reading fault codes.

The first M112 blower I bought when I did my Eaton swap. Got it REAL cheap, should have known you get what you pay for...:o

After it seized up, I replaced it with a Stiegy rebuilt core and no issues since.

They have been in for about 18 months and had no issues last time a changed plugs. Started having misfire and these were the culprit.

Just went back to stock C.O.P. springs for now. 2 of the ferrite insulators were also cracked or shattered. Gonna look into the materials to make my own but will probably just stay stock for now. It was your thread that made suspect them.
