Searching you tube for some videos today and ran across a Marauder with a ported Eaton.

In his description he states that next year involves a new motor and higher boost. Do you think his Marauder is stock?

With 10:1 compression stock can you get away with 14 lbs of boost?

I believe that's Bill's (RacerX) car. I'm running 11 lbs boost on my car, stock lower end; the tune's a big factor in any FI car, but 14 lbs is prolly getting up close to the limit for a stock lower end (piston and rods are the weak link).

What about the crank? I heard good and bad things about it. Seen one guy who broke it in half but I think that was on nitrous

IIRC, OEM crank should be able to handle 500+ hp.

If something's gonna let go, it'll be a piston or rod before the crank.

Its not too much about the boost number. Its about the power numbers. I ran 12psi on a vortech at 10* timing and made 459rwhp on pump gas and stock bottom end. Made plenty passes and the car stilk runs fine.

I was mainly asking because I was curious to know if the crank would need to be replaced along with the rods and pistons. Not too many factory N/A cars had real good internals so I was just curious. Thanks though.

Trilogy #93 got a 2.8" pulley and tuned on 11/11/10 @100K miles it had 15#'s of boost for two years .It is now in pieces and waiting on a new motor, she let loose following a 12.2 @113 pass .

It's an MMR forged and balanced rotating assembly in a FRPP iron block. High cr with 14psi isn't a prob with this block at all. I have a new aluminum block with a bit lower cr, new ported heads, crower stage 2 sc cams and FR500 ss valves going on top. Will get a 2.9 upper for 17+psi until I get a Whipple or TVS. :D
