I'm about to start with the swap. I have a mm short block that I got from a member here it has 30xxx on it.. I was wondering how much should I expect to pay for to transformation.. Taking my motor out and put the other short block end? An also is there any thing i should change? I'm adding kooks header also.. Thx and appreciate it!!!

What condition are your heads in?
What condition are the peripherals (timing chains, followers, etc. ad nauseum)in?
Will you be doing any other work while you are doing the swap?
Will the shop doing the swap be doing everything under one roof (RR of motor, tuning, etc)?

All that's in good shape. I'm assuming
Will you be doing any other work while you are doing the swap?
I would like to just keep it simple ( NA ) bolt ons maybe the cobra cams, tune, header.. I will be getting the heads look at..
Will the shop doing the swap be doing everything under one roof (RR of motor, tuning, etc)?
Just the motor work that's... Thx

The problem is most people underestimate what needs to be done and leads to disappointment.
For example, who is supplying parts and what parts and in my opinion if you are swapping in a new motor it should be tuned, or at a very minimum spun up on a dyno and checked for A/F (and I do mean a very minimum).

It's 8-9 hours book time to R&I long blocks, If you factor in building the new motor, expect to pay, 4k seems excessive,I can see 2-3K easy.........

I will disagree with Daren.
It takes time to do the work with attention to detail, including degreeing the cams, etc.

That's (2-3) what I was thinking.. And someone here( STL ) told me that was a good ford shop.. I'm going to try another shop and if not, don't no..,

I don't think 4k is all that much, MartyYo is right not only does the shop have to pull out the motor but it has to swap out short block, so it has to completely disassemble the entire engine, remove heads and timing chains and reinstall. It's a PITA!! A short block swap book time can be anywhere from 15-25hrs book time depending on vehicle and engine.

No need to disagree with me, the last motor I had swapped in a vic was 8 hours for R&I, + materials.
A DOHC short block that you have to assemble, = $$$$$$$.
What do I know, I paid Lidio's shop to do mine, and it wasn't cheap, but it was painless....
I'd send your car to Marty's shop, others have, they have experience with Marauders, and have good results with Marauders, + you get your car back in a timely manner with all the parts it had when it went there.......
I'd say ship her to Mo's, sit back and enjoy a cold drink and let Marty do the work for you.........well, not Marty, but his crew.:D

Marty personally works on my Marauders. I have seen the pictures of him all greasy and dirty. Truth it is PAINLESS. I have never complained about his work. His guys are great and funny too. He will send you pics of the progress and notes with them. I even wear "The Mo's T-Shirt." The one that reads Mo for President. I am just lazy.

I have done many swaps on these cars. $4k seems reasonable for a shop that has permits, ins, and qualified technicians to pay for. However the swap is a very easy one for me, i do it on my spare time with attention to detail and no time deadline. Time is money guys. I would charge $1,800 i labor for that job.
Also the consumer almost never understands why once we get stuff apart we find more things to be fixed. Its hard to say an exact amount of money untill everything is all apart.
Note: Im not selling the job, i have plenty on my agenda.

I'd say $4000 is about right, getting the engine in and out is nothing compared to the dis assembly, degreasing, re assembly of the other engine...not to mention degreeing cams (your there why not) and then a tune....
