I think the consensus the last time this topic came up was about 35-40 miles and that should be a relatively safe estimate.

I can tell you it's less than on my F150, found that out the hard way!

IIRC once the light comes on, there are two gallons left to bone dry

I checked mine using "scan gauge" and found that I can driver almost 55 miles when the light comes on. Mind you I did this only as a "test" I am sure results will be not be the same for all marauder's. So it more of guessing game?

Mine only came on once and 16 gallons filled it up so I had about 3 gallons left??

Word of CAUTION: Our fuel pump is kept cool by being submerged in fuel so I seldom let the fuel fall below 1/2 tank....not sure when it becomes exposed (1/4 tank?) but why not just fill up at half to be safe??:D

I currently have 161K miles on the one I installed with the blower in 2005 and it still pumps fine....I have kept it submerged its entire life and that just might be why it's still alive??;)

^^^^^ What he said. ^^^^^^^

More at stake here than just running out of fuel.

I selddom let mine go below 1/4 tank and usually fill up when it reaches the 1/2 mark.

^^^what 'jack and the Cheesehead said^^^

Another drawback to letting the fuel get low is in the design of the tank itself. There is insufficient baffling to prevent the pickup from being uncovered during hard acceleration when the tank is below approx 1/4. This is more of a problem for the FI guys, but can still be an issue for a mildly modded NA car.

Yup.

Low fuel = potential for momentary fuel starvation = lean condition = BOOM!

not a good thing.....

+1 on this - I've gone 50 miles once the light came on and it still ran fine.1
I wouldn't recomend doing it on a regular basis - start looking at 1/2 tank and try not to run below 1/4 tank

Mine came on once when I was cruising on the highway. The light came on halfway between a quarter and empty on the gauge. I drove 37 miles with no problem.
Normally I run between a quarter on the low side and three quarters on the high side, unless I'm on a trip, then I fill up every time at a quarter.
