My car is running fine but I have this same code again (lean bank one and two) I have looked it over. There are no vacuum leaks to be found. I need to get this fixed to pass inspection. Any help would be great.:help:

There seems to be unmetered air coming from somewhere or poor fuel distribution.
I'm still betting on the MAF sensor elements(wires) being dirty... When they build up a film, the sensor element is insulated and tricks the PCM into thinking less air is entering the engine... Result is reduced injector pulse-width causing lean code(s)... I've fixed at least a dozen different Fords by only cleaning the MAF, latest was a '00 Explorer just three days ago...

smoke test it and if there's a leak it will show up..........go from there.....

Ok. Looks like I will have a chance today to clean the maf and reset the code. If its the intake gaskets, I may as well get my Camaro SS inspected and start the eaton swap. :D
Do you think an old fuel filter could cause this? I don't have any way to smoke it so I would like to try other routes before I have to pay someone.
If cleaning the MAF fixes it you'll likely find it feels like you just gave it a fresh tuneup...
The '00 Explorer I just cleaned probably picked up 10-15Hp, has lots more pep and AFAIK it's running it's original 117Kmi spark plugs...
