Alright guys could someone please give me some advice here. I went through the dreaded blend door replacement and the arm moved in the clockwise direction but not counterclockwise. I went to test point A to trouble shoot it and I couldn't find what was wrong.

I finally got pissed off and I decided to take it to the dealership. I just got off the phone with them and they said that it was the heatercore and it needed to be flushed or replaced. Flushing it would cost me about $125 dollars but it would cost me $850 dollars in labor:eek:. On my trouble shooting sheet it said nothing about the heater core being the problem. What do you guys think? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like the blend door itself may be hanging up.

But WTF does the heater core have to do with the blend door open/closing correctly? :shake: As FBM said, sounds more like an issue with the door itself.

Very curious to see how this plays out.
I'm still staring down the barrel of this fiasco. I know my blend door doesn't work and I need to go to dealer with it. Boy am I not looking forward to this.

I can manually move the actuator arm and the air will go from hot to cold. So then the heater core must be good, right? They wanted about $937 including P+L. F*** that! I aint the smartest man in the world, but they are trying to screw me over.

You are correct.

BTW the engine was leaking a little bit on the driver side by the firewall and they told me that it was the power steering pump. They wanted me to replace it for $375. They must be crazy. The pump is no where near the firewall. If you look underneath the car you can see that the first set of cats look wet.

Could be the master cylinder.

Could be the master cylinder.

I'll check that out. The fluid level looked o.k. What would cause it to leak?

The seal in the center of the master cylinder can go bad, causing it to leak into the power booster.

Clean off the area with brake clean and keep an eye on it.
