 I have a 2004 Marauder and found a reputable place in Philadelphia (recommended to me by custom car clubs and others) for original upholstery restoration work. I have the light flint interior and the place says they can get the leather and vinyl needed. (The people showed me the Ford product upholstery catalogue and had the right sample for the work). I will also get the console glove box lid cover replaced which is dark charcoal since it split from age. This is the second place I went to. I went to another place originally and they never got back to me but both told me the same thing regarding the steering wheel. They said they cannot remove the existing dark charcoal leather steering wheel wrap. Both places advised me I must either get a new steering wheel or have a new leather wrap sewed over the old one. I can't understand this. Its clear the steering wheel wrap is stitched on so why is this a problem ? In fact the latest place I went to which is highly recommended won't even do it. What have club members done when it came time to replace the leater steering wheel wrap ? And is there sombody in the Philadelphia area anyone can recommend who can do the upholstery, glove box between the seats and steering wheel wrap? Appreciate help on this.

Why does it need to be replaced?
Why does it need to be replaced?
Probably because its worn! And possibly faded.
That's the reason I keep a cover on my steering wheel. Put it on as soon as I left the dealership!
Mine still looks brand new!

Yep: Doom was right. It simply wore from 187 K of driving. Plus where I work it sits out in the sun all day. MaGuirers Rich Leather has helped it but its getting to a point where its getting pretty ugly.

Somebody posted a little while back with pictures of their steering wheel professionally done in leather and it looked great. I think it was about $350.00.
Try searching for the post. It was this past summer I think.

Sorry to hijack but I just couldn't help but notice.. Nice pedals, Heel Pad and Gear Shift Surround!! I just orderd mine from Jim.. How hard was it to put the Dead pedal in? BTW. Have you ever seen how they put on the leather wrap on the steering wheel? It's an art and very time consuming. No wonder it costs so much..

Is that your wheel?
I like the bumps at 10&2. What did that cost?
