At track rental Friday night and temps in the 90's we took Purple to do some more tuning on the Holley HP system. Car ran 10.851 @ 122.19 with a 1.578 60 ft. Good numbers for the heat.

Went to the track today....between traction issues, a miss, tune issues, and the trans acting stupid....didn't pull like it should or was prior to the re-tune...but still ran pretty decent...I just had to launch easy at lower RPM's....ran 13.71, 13.74 twice, 13.80 twice, 13.99, and even a 14.73 while blowing the tires off through first and second...Had a few nice 60' times, but those were with only launching around 2200rpm and feathering....Still not running like it should or was, but not too bad I guess. Gotta put my rebuilt trans in soon I guess since the one in it now has been acting up for some time and now seems to be letting go, and get the other issues ironed out. Might go ahead and install the eddy intake sitting in my kitchen along with the fuel rails, 30lb injectors, and nitrous while I'm fixing it then huh?

After days of downpour followed by much cooler temperatures, Purple ran like a champion at LVD today. Weather remained overcast and track was cold - 60' dropped from 1.55 to 1.60 and car still ran the best ever - 10.758 at 125.21 mph.

well finally made it out to the track with the car and got lucky a friend was out with his video camera and taped some of my passes this day(Oct 3 2013)
it was a private track rental day with about 100 cars showing up on a Thursday....lol
Track wasn't my friend this day for 60ft's, I think maybe the Nitto's aren't up to the task anymore car would hook at first then as it rolled out and hit the peek torque curve it would spin and had to lift a bit and then squees the throttle and she would go,tried several times just no luck.......
best 60 was a 1.75,with 7.440@99.11 mph to the 1/8 mile with 11.40@125.41 mph.
full weight with no gutting or weight reduction,on 94 pump......
maybe next time out I'm gonna try the drag set up with 100 unlead tune.....or first switch up the tires to M/T drag radials,still very happy.........enjoy the video guys......

1.55 60' Hoosier 28/10/16 slicks with tubes. 15psi it was a hotlapped pass since the track was closing. My iat was at 106* and coolant at 208* before the burnout. Bottle press was a little under 800 psi. I feel the car has an easy 10.50 in it.

Seems like a lame entry to follow Landy's 1/4 mile above...however, first and last race at Mission Raceway Oct. 12/13 last night. rained in the early morning before race time, and had a cold track, temp was 53 degrees F. I was the lucky one staging when the car in front slammed into the wall. One hour later after the track got cleaned, got a chance to do one run, at 11.82 @ 116.27 MPH. (Al's old car, Silver 04, TS Trilogy)

Chris! If you want over 7k, you need an aftermarket system like FAST or Holley ECU. Mike at Dez Racing setup one of Joe's (Triple Threat) cars with the Holley system because the Marauder computer wouldn't go over 7k.

Yeah I remember him saying that. I'm not giving up yet. A converter clutch that will hold lockup would do the trick.

not true.......
although the factory PCM does have trouble over 7 k with coil-on type ignition, the limit would be actually closer to 7800,the waste spark set ups(coil pack)actually allow higher RPM cabability......
I had my MM in thrid gear at 7K with no issues.....and my Modfox that runs a 04 Mach 1 auto computer see's 7500 rpm shifts with no issues, car does trap at 7800 and after data logging we seen cylinders started to misfire from 7500-7800, this cleared up after tightening the gap to 20 and the linit was 7800 with no misfire,cant really say if the system would keep up after that......remember the Mach 1 auto and MM PCM have the fastest ram processors out all the computors to year 04 with 28MHz,

Stand alone is far superior and would allow better tuning ability.....

Today was the last day of racing for me this year.At 8 this morning the track temp was 39.By 11 it had warmed up enough to get some good runs in. We did our best run of the year but could not better the great run Sherm's car had.

Thanks man. I may be making some 8th mile passes tomorrow. The GF may or may no have made plans for me. We'll see. I took the filter off the front of the turbo. Apparently I could have been losing a lot of power with it on. I've heard from some people that have gone much faster than me that it could pic up .15 and a couple MPH.

Matched my best ET and pedaled it slightly. I've found the limit of $35 comp engineering 3 ways at a questionable track like my local 8th mile. Going to bowling green on the 26th. There's an event going on so the track should be good enough for me to use that as a crutch to put the power down. Only taking of the air filter, I gained nearly 2mph. About 35 WHP. Lol

Matched my best ET and pedaled it slightly. I've found the limit of $35 comp engineering 3 ways at a questionable track like my local 8th mile. Going to bowling green on the 26th. There's an event going on so the track should be good enough for me to use that as a crutch to put the power down. Only taking of the air filter, I gained nearly 2mph. About 35 WHP. Lol

New update....
Went to the test/tune yesterday at MIR... ran a 13.55 launching at 2800.... Had a great day, still feel like I'm leaving .1 - .2 on the track though... still fun... ;)

Thank you sir.... I still have some launching issues and trans issues...all-in-all, it feels like I truly am leaving about a tenth or two on the track still...but over-all, I'm happy for now.... I'm happy because it's still in full dress....no weight reduction at all...and I had almost 3/4 tank of gas yesterday again.... not a huge difference I know, but every little bit makes a difference

Thanks guys. Short story long, I bought the car from a friend two years ago. At the time, the car was already equipped with kooks headers w/ catted x-pipe and magnaflow mufflers, stallion converter, k&n cai, 4.10's, Metco control arms and a diablo chip tuned by nitrous pete. A couple weeks back, I purchased an SCT sf3 programmer and steeda pulleys. This past Tuesday, I had the pulleys installed and pulled the diablo chip in favor of the SCT tuner. At the track, I run 275/40/17 nitto NT05R drag radials mounted on widened crown vic wheels.

Well, ole "Blue Thunder" got a best of 13.31@101.13 today at MIR today at the all Ford meet.....not too bad for my N/A 2V Crown Vic Sport
