I had a small leak at the block adapter for my remote oil filter installation so I decided to disassemble it and see what was wrong........what a mess!!:argue:

When I removed the 4 foot hoses from the adapter they got kinked pretty bad so I decided to just go back to the OEM filter for now and remove the remote for a later installation.......

When I removed the adapter from the block it also removed the filter nipple......ugh!!:eek:

After a couple more hours of frustration I was back to "normal" with the OEM FL-820S mounted in it's "Snuggy Place"...what a pain to get to!!:mad2:

When I started the car the OP Gauge pegged at 100 PSI.......WOW!! :eek: With the remote it was only about 65-70 PSI cold!!

Hot pressure is about the same at idle around 25-30 PSI........but 65-70 PSI at 2500 RPM's.......clearly 15-20 PSI higher than with the remote.....WOW AGAIN!!:eek::eek:

I guess the 4 feet of hose caused a lot of pressure loss......not dangerous but still MORE than I expected!!:cool:

'jack, maybe lower oil pressure is the key to engine longevity. You car has HOW many miles, again? :D

Are you using a fl1a on the remote kit? The filter itself has a lot to do with oil pressure. each filter has a bypass valve and a backflow valve.

The restriction of the filter, compared to the restriction in the rest of the engine, is tiny, so filter selection should not make a difference in oil pressure.

245 K miles in a few days......currently at 244,791!!:beer::bows:

FL-1A's are what I used for about 6 years with the remote!!

Agreed... Had to be a issue in the lines, adapter, etc...
