Im sitting on 150K miles... i had my axles changed around 85-90... How often should one change the rear differential oil?

In all of my 8.8 rear end cars I like to do a clutch pack and gear oil swap every 50k. Its a bit overkill though, I think a fluid swap every 50k isn't a bad idea.

I'd go with every 50K.

i had my axles changed around 85-90... What oil was put in at that time? If it was synthetic, you're fine. If it was conventional, I agree with Vortech347 that 50k would not be unreasonable, although not really necessary.

I was wondering about this question also...even with only 23,000 miles on my '04 DTR...but I plan to change the trans and rear diff fluids to synthetic soon anyhow.
Thanks for the info as always though.
