Really? 0-60 is bad enough to get deleted around here but there are posts of MM owners here doing the same thing some include videos of them doing it but mine got deleted. When i especially was only asking a question. I guess I'm not apart of the favorite team round here.

Lets be serious for a minute here. The video we all seen of landy post not too long ago. I'm sure wasn't on a track. And no I'm not calling anyone out. In just stating facts. I've seen countless amounts of other videos from members here do burnouts and etc... It's all just as dangerous. We all mod and drive at our own risks. Just like the others say its far more that goes on and breaks rules way worse then I have. It's BS. Doom is right. Swing the hammer on a equal level. I wasn't glorifying that I raced I was more asking a question about N/A MM vs SS and I described what happen just for those to get an idea. And it was gone in hours. Like I said its teams here. If I go political my post will remain forever and everyone anti Obama will have something slick to say. If I say I slammed my car door too hard then my post is deleted and my membership is at risk.

As a member here and a moderator on MANY car forums one of things that is said on just about any forum out there is that You Can't Please Everyone.

The owners of MM.net are the moderators as well, they makes the rules, don't like them then there is the door. As far as street racing threads, that whole topic has been removed out of respect and covers the owners butts as most states have a guilty by association clause in the articles of law in regards to illegal speed contest and they can and will hold any and all parties accountable.

I've been here over 7 years and still visit every day just about, for all the topics that are not to be talked about I go elsewhere.

No offense Blk04MM but every time something happens you seem to make a new thread about the issue to draw attention to yourself. Why not PM one of the mods/owners and talk it out with them instead?

The rules are the rules here, I accepted that fact a long time ago and dealt with it very easily. You should visit the website Blackened300a posted and post your little heart out with all the stuff that can't be posted here. ;)

My condolences to the member(s) who had a tragic accidentObviously you didn't know Alex Vachon (marauderboi). He was a good kid, a member here, and a friend to many of us, who was killed in a moment of weakness. It could happen to you.

People are allowed to have opinions about politics...it's one of the things that makes this country great, but out of respect for Alex and his family, street racing is not allowed here.

Let me put it this way. I am sick of wasting my time stating my opinion on close minded people. I have better things to do with my life then complain about what I see and how things are run.

I would be more than glad to say this and that, but that upsets people and then get's me mad. So I chose to no longer waste my time with people who do not listen. If they were smart, they would never stop listening.... to anyone. We can all learn, it's people who do not listen that are truly ignorant.

You know my stance Adam.

This following topics are not allowed on this message board and will be removed if posted: Religion, politics, race/racism, abortion, highly sensitive or controversial subjects that incites arguments, street racing, promotion of illegal drugs or illegal activity, software piracy, material which is exceedingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, extremely sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise violate any law, chain letters, pyramid schemes, or any form of solicitation unless authorized and approved by the owners beforehand. The owners of MercuryMarauder.net Forums reserve the right to remove, edit, move or close any thread for any reason. VENDOR & CLASSIFIEDS What are the rules for vendors? Are they allowed on the message boards? MercuryMarauder.net defines a vendor as any company or individual that sells, markets, promotes, manufactures or distributes any products or services for the purpose of generating a profit, regardless of the product or service's cost or profit margins. Vendors who choose not to contribute financially to the site are strictly prohibited from using the MercuryMarauder Message Boards to promote or conduct their business ventures in any capacity. Promotion includes, but is not limited to, including links to company web sites, posting email addresses or contact information (including phone and company address), posting blatant advertising or marketing messages or soliciting customers through messages of group purchases, pricing specials, etc. Conducting business activity may include posting order or product status updates or responding to inquiries about products that are not directly made to them. If you are vendor and someone asks about an order status, respond offline, not on the message boards. Violations of these rules are also violations of the Terms of Service that everyone agrees to when registering to use the MercuryMarauder.net Message Boards. As always, violations may result in immediate account termination, depending on their severity and perceived intent. We are very strict in enforcing vendor rules. The bottom line is likely this - if you are here to simply take advantage of the MercuryMarauder Community to further your financial goals and you do not wish to give something back to the operator of the site, you are likely not welcome here. If you are here as a Mercury Marauder enthusiast, you are more than welcome. MM.Net Administration

Lol, I do think this forum has turned from a car forum into something more like a group of semi-close-knit people who happen to drive the same car. Not saying it's a bad thing, just kinda the way it seems.

Mostly because there are almost never any posts pertaining to modifying the car or quirks of the car any more, if anything it's more about mileage milestones or how to keep your car clean (which aren't really specific to the MM). If whitey's post about his own catch can are any indication of how trying to do something independently or on a budget is treated here, well I'd just say that I've seen criminals catch less flak...

The most badass thing about this thread in particular though, is that for all the people that have said through the years "if you don't like it, make your own forum," someone ACTUALLY DID. That's just plain awesome.

Can't say I disagree with you here. I mean, come on, after 10 years, how much is left to really talk about. It's fun to see new ideas pop up, but I agree. There is mostly rehash of old questions that have been asked numerous times (LCM, badgeless grill, carfixer's alignment, etc...) Most of the time questions are from "new" owners of Marauders that need to know the quirks of their car. it's just cyclical, i guess.

Like most topics that continually repeat, they devolve.
Personally I feel sorry for newb's, they come on and ask innocent questions that are new to them, they tend to get Snyde answers, just because its old to us doesn't mean it's not new to them.
The same thing has happened with political threads, when I first joined, they were pretty civil and a healthy debate

They now have devolved into
Democrats are sheep
Guns are awesome
Obama sucks and has a goal to destroy the world
Democrats are libtards

In other words its all about the apocalypse and the sky is falling

I'm a Democrat and proud to be, and I'm sick and tired of reading in threads, even the non political ones how I'm a moron, I've ruined this country, and I just want to put everyone on welfare

It's offensive

Just like if I called every republican a 6th grade graduate drunk hillbilly bible thumper that only want to govern what I do in my bedroom

The politics on this site have run amuck, it's time to reign it in

The car, the friendships from the car, stories and laughs should be what this sight is about

Want to discuss politics? There are millions of morons just waiting to hear what clever thing you have to say on a million websites

Somewhere around a year ago, we forgot to bring the funny on this site

It's time we let the good times roll

Funny, thats very true.

But let's be real here (not you Dom, end quote LOL) every rule is tweaked to an extent.

We have gotten away with posting hundreds of burnouts (but keeping it real mostly in empty parking lots).

They have let countless political threads run amok. Same for rude comments, most are sarcastically in fun, but not all.

Weaponry has been discussed many times.

Some of the jokes on the joke thread are quite racial. Good, because if you can't be proud of what you are and be able to take it in stride and dish it right back, then you have issues.

Basically, the mods here have bent over backwards to try and please most. If you can't see that, then go away, or STFU.

As for street kills, sorry, but why should everyone pay for one kids reckless behavior? I don't street race, in fact I have been very vocal how I feel about it when I hear of an asshat doing that shat in traffic. Screw you, my family could be in that car you idiots just passed at a 100 plus!

Spirited driving? Hell yeah I'm all over that. Why in world would I invest thousands of dollars just to drive like Miss Daisy? Track use? Yeah, at maybe once a year, those few runs would be a very expensive hobby..

But like DOOM, I just keep my head down and play by the rules, because this is home and I wipe my feet when I enter. The mods know how a lot of us here feel, hopefully they will let this site stretch some more. Your thread didn't help that come any sooner...

Spirited. No one around to hurt but you and them...

BUT

You started a thread that involved killing an SS on the street. Next time (just happen to slide it into a post) 😉

You're right. Moderating is a thankless job and we can't read it all, but, you're right. We have given some extended leeway to political threads. Most end up getting closed because it gets out of hand, in a sense proving we can't all play nice. Yes, we were not following the rules by letting them continue. Unfortunately, being a little bit flexible comes back to bite us. We will do our best to moderate more consistently, regardless of the topic from hereon out.
